The Flow of the Divine Trinity is our Life Supply

John 7:38 records words of Jesus, “He who believes into Me, as the Scripture said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.” The next verse explains, “this He said concerning the Spirit.” The Spirit is portrayed by the water of life flowing in New Jerusalem.

New JerusalemIn Revelation 22:1 we see the flow of the Divine Trinity—God, the Lamb, and the water of life (the Spirit). According to John 7:38-39, the water of life refers to the Spirit. God was the One who purposed, He became the Lamb who redeemed (1:14, 29), and finally He became the life-giving, flowing Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45b). God flows in the water of life, the Lamb flows in the water of life, and the Spirit flows as the water of life. Thus, this is the triune flow, the flow of the Divine Trinity as the very life supply.*

God purposed in eternity past. In time Satan rebelled and caused man to sin and thus death came in. Then God came in the man Jesus to redeem us and reconcile us to God. His death and resurrection also released the divine life and imparted it into us for our regeneration.

Now the Spirit flows for our life supply, flowing into us, through us, and out from us as stated in John 7. This outflow reaches others for their salvation and for our mutual care for one another. Thus we are built together in the divine life for the preparation of New Jerusalem.
