The impossible is possible

Psalm 37:4:

"Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

Do you ever find yourself setting goals, be it in your career, relationships, or personal growth? We have all been told to make them SMART—specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. It is the golden rule for goal-setting, right? But what about those desires that seem out of reach, those aspirations that feel impossible?

Consider this: the dream of traveling abroad when you cannot even cover your current expenses. Or, envision aiming for healing, whether from anxiety or a daunting physical ailment like cancer. These goals might seem beyond the realm of possibility.

The sheer enormity of what you want to achieve may cast a shadow of doubt, making the journey seem daunting and unattainable. It is completely natural to feel a sense of unease when your aspirations appear to surpass your current circumstances.

Yet here is the thing: the impossible is not as implausible as it appears.

But how?

Many say that hard work is the key to making the impossible possible. Yet, not everyone can simply work hard; the path is often laden with hurdles.

Consider this: aspiring to become a world-renowned photographer. It is not just about toiling day and night behind a lens. What if you lack the financial means to buy a camera, or worse, do not even possess a phone that captures quality photos?

Well, you can always turn to God for help.

In moments when the challenges seem insurmountable, remember that God has the power to make the impossible possible. Take, for instance, the story of Abraham and Sarah. Despite their old age and Sarah's barrenness, God promised them a child. Many thought it impossible, but God fulfilled His promise, and Isaac, their son, was born.

Another remarkable example is the tale of David and Goliath. Facing a giant named Goliath, David, a young shepherd, seemed an unlikely victor. Yet, with unwavering faith, a slingshot, and a single stone, David conquered the giant, showcasing how God can turn what appears impossible into a triumphant reality.

All you need to do is be specific in your prayer.

In your prayers, express your hopes and aspirations, laying them before God with trust and sincerity. Ask for His wisdom and provision, believing that He can provide the means for you to achieve what seems impossible. While the road ahead may look uncertain, have faith that God's plan exceeds your understanding.

However, as you hope, also remember that God may have something different planned out for you.

Consider the story of Jonah in the Bible. Jonah desired to escape a specific task that God assigned him. Instead of following God's instruction to go to Nineveh, he boarded a ship heading in the opposite direction. However, God had different plans. A great storm arose, and the crew, realizing Jonah was the cause, threw him overboard to calm the tempest.

That said, it is natural to feel anxious when faced with uncertainty, wondering if the path you envision aligns with what lies ahead. But take heart, for God's intentions are always for your benefit. Even in challenges, He provides strength and resilience beyond what you may realize.

I'm a Christian who sees the church as my second home. Not only were my parents the ones who raised me, but our church elders and members also played a significant role. However, despite attending church every Sunday, I still have some questions regarding my faith. As a writer, the articles I create serve as answers to the questions I've had and continue to have, and I hope they can serve a purpose for others who are searching for the same answers.
