The Lord Will Be Glorified in Us

The Lord Jesus will come in glory at the end of this age and be seen by all men. We are being led into this glory (Heb. 2:10) which eventually will saturate New Jerusalem and be brightly radiated by the city.New Jerusalem

The prior post was about our being in this glory. Another aspect of our involvement with glory is that glory is developing in us. Second Thessalonians 1:10 says that the Lord “comes to be glorified in His saints and to be marveled at in all those who have believed (because our testimony to you was believed) in that day.”

We have received Him and He is in us as our life (Rom. 8:10; Col. 3:4). ). When He returns, He “will transfigure the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of His glory” (Phil. 3:21). This is His being glorified in us!

Romans 8:30 says that God has predestined us, called us, justified us, and glorified us. In His eternal, timeless view we are glorified; in our time-constrained life we have “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27). Likewise, John was given the eternal view of New Jerusalem having the glory of God but we are awaiting it in hope.
