The relationship between joy, peace and hope - Christian Personal Development

god responds to faith

I was studying the Bible and I stumbled on what I call the relationship between joy, peace and hope. After I got inspired with this truth, I decided to write a post which I have titled, The relationship between joy, peace and hope.

What’s peace?

Several years ago, I discovered that the Greek word used for peace in the new Testament is also used for prosperity. Christians are promised peace and prosperity by God.

Jesus said my peace I give unto you not as the world gives. This implies that the world cannot give you the type of peace I am talking about here.

What’s joy?

The Bible says that the joy of God is your strength. This also shows that God is interested in giving us joy too. It’s the joy that comes from God that’s your strength.

What’s hope?

Hope is a state where you are always looking forward to the promises God has made unto you which you have believed Him for. For example, the Bible talks about blessed hope which is the hope Christians have about the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The scripture that shows the relationship between joy, peace and hope

Please read the scripture below:

Romans 15:13

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

The simple deduction from here is this: God fills you with joy and peace so that you can have hope. Joy and peace comes first and then hope comes next.

You are advised to pursue joy and peace because this will help you to live in hope. You should also note from that passage the role the Holy Spirit plays. Everything happens through the power of the Holy Spirit.

How to have hope as a Christian

When you are losing hope over an issue it means the joy and peace tanks in you are already running dry. You should do the following:

  1. Pray to God to fill you with joy and peace.
  2. ncrease your study of His Word
  3. Set time to pray for some days over the issue.
  4. Note revelations He will show you. Write them down and meditate over them.
  5. Begin to carry out instructions from the revelations. If there is anything to change, change it.

Prayer for hope

God fill me with peace and joy in Jesus name. Amen.
