The Riches of His Glory
Matthew 25:31 records the speaking of the Lord Jesus: “the Son of Man comes in His glory.” This will be the conclusion of this age when He comes in glory to replace all the human governments, as recorded in Daniel 2:27-45 and to judge the nations as presented in Matthew 25:32-46.
The glory of the Son of Man will become the glory shown forth by New Jerusalem. This glory has four aspects; note 4 on Matthew 25:31 from the Holy Bible Recovery Version*:
The Lord’s glory comprises the glory of His divinity (John 17:22, 24), the glory of His humanity (Psa. 45:3), the glory of His resurrection (John 7:39; Acts 3:13-15), and the glory of His ascension (Heb. 2:9).
Ultimately New Jerusalem is the city of glory as revealed in Revelation 21:10-11. As part of the preparation of New Jerusalem God will “make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He had before prepared unto glory” (Rom. 9:23).
All the believers are these vessels, not by our capabilities or attainments but through God’s mercy. He will make known, not only His glory, but the riches of His glory upon us to build us together in Himself to become New Jerusalem as the eternal corporate vessel of glory.
