Time to be Refreshed (Psalms 23)
By Tanja
This year more than ever, we need the Shepherd of our souls to restore our souls. Is there a sense of desperation and longing for the Lord to meet us? It is His promise to us that He will restore our souls.
Jesus is still our Good Shepherd, just as He has always been. Psalms 23:2 says, “He makes me lie down in Green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul.” We need to be restored and refreshed even in the midst of the unknown.
Paul Wilbur puts it like this; “My mind, my will, and my emotions are restored when I submit to the leading of this Shepherd and friend.”[1]
Remember it is God who loves you and takes care of you; He leads you towards His righteousness. It is not only to help you but for His glory and His name.
Dear Shepherd of my soul,
You always comfort me, for that I am grateful.
Thank you for welcoming me into your heavenly family.
When I am close to You, I know there is plenty- should I be in want?
You are always ready to show Your love with Your embrace.
Your presence is a delight.
You put Your seal on my heart, and I know Your love is following me.
Your beloved.
