TOTALITARIANISM
TO VITALI TRETIAKOV
FROM YURI SHAPUROV
Dear Vitali,
In your program “What to do?” of 29.05.2011 there were many disputes about totalitarianism. I propose my definition of totalitarianism:
TOTALITARIANISM is theory and practice of some ideology which has a kind of religious system and which put its theory and practice higher than religious values.
Totalitarianism may not only be communist and fascist, but also monarchical (in the time of John the terrible), liberal, democratic, panhuman, human, patriotic, nationalistic, conservative, corporative, etc.
Totalitarianism may also be Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant, Zionistic, etc.
Totalitarianism may not be Christian, Islamic or Hebrew, because these religions by definition do not put their theory and practice higher than they are.
Totalitarian may be sects, churches, parties, corporations, organizations, states, unions of states, etc.
The higher this ideology put its theory and practice over religious values – the more totalitarian this ideology is.
SINCERELY YOURS – YURI SHAPUROV.
