Two Spirits Needed for New Jerusalem

Two spirits are necessary to bring forth New Jerusalem—the divine, life-giving, all-inclusive Spirit and our human spirit.New Jerusalem

The Spirit of God is eternal and was operating in Genesis 1. But John 7:39 tells us that “the Spirit was not yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.” The Spirit in eternity past and in the Old Testament times was constituted of divinity.

In John 7 the Spirit “was not yet” because Jesus “had not yet been glorified.” If we compare Luke 24:26 and 46, we learn that for Jesus to be glorified is for Him to be resurrected. The Spirit who “was not yet” is now constituted with divinity plus the incarnation, human living, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

This compounding is portrayed by the ointment in Exodus 30, composed of olive oil (symbol of the divine Spirit) mingled with myrrh and cinnamon (the death of Jesus) and with calamus and cassia (the resurrection). Much more about this compounding is in messages 157 and 158 of Life-study of Exodus, at LSM Online Publications.

All who believe into Jesus Christ receive a bountiful supply from this inclusive Spirit (Gal. 3:5) including redemption, life, love, holiness, and all else necessary for building the Body of Christ and bringing forth New Jerusalem.
