We are Components of New Jerusalem

In Revelation 21:2 John tells us, “I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” In verse 7 the Lord speaks to each of His people, “I will be God to him, and he will be a son to Me.”

According to Revelation 21, the New Jerusalem will be the wife of Christ (vv. 2, 9-10) and also the tabernacle of God, His habitation (v. 3). Revelation 21:7 indicates that the wife of Christ is composed of sons. As the sons of God, we are the components of the New Jerusalem, which is the wife of Christ….On the one hand, we have been born of this mother; on the other hand, this mother is composed of us as the sons.*

New JerusalemGod desires many sons to become His corporate expression. To accomplish this, God was incarnated in the man Jesus. Jesus died to redeem us from all our sins, failures, and life apart from God. Then He was resurrected as the Firstborn among the many sons of God.

Romans 8:29— God “predestinated [us] to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers.” The many brothers of Christ are the many sons of God the Father. Corporately we as the many sons are the Body of Christ being built together in the Father’s life for New Jerusalem.
