What are the Bible rules on offerings?

  1. You should hold an offering in your hand anytime you go to church, unless you are without any money. Exodus 23 vs. 15 – Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
  2. God is interested in the quality of your offerings rather than the quantity of your offering. If you give $5 (50%) out of a total income of $10; you have given more than someone that gave $500 (10%) out of a total income of $5000. Mark 12 vs. 41-44
  3. Always bring an offering to the Lord every time and anytime you come to his presence. Exodus 25 vs. 1-2 – And theLord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.
  4. Give from your heart. Decide how much you want to give before you leave the house. Give willingly, cheerfully and rejoicefully. Don’t give because someone forces you to give but because you believe you should give. Any offering given grudgingly is not acceptable to God. Exodus 23 vs. 15 – Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)
