Who Am I That You Would Bring Me This Far

As I sat thinking today, I know that I have nothing to boast of…
For what do I have that I have not been given?
The life that I live and the path that I walk
Has been laid out before me by You, the Most High.

So how can I feel pride or think that I am above any man,
For my lot could have been so different.
So I thank and praise You,
Not because I deserve to be blessed,
But because I am so thankful You have an interest in me.
And I am amazed and grateful
That You have set your affection on me.

Will You then lead me Lord
To the place that You desire for me?
And will You give me patience to wait for You
And faith to endure the journey home to You?
And the wife and children You have given me,
Would You be gracious to them too?

Then I will say along with Your servant David:
“Who am I and my house, that You would bring me this far…
For You, Lord God, know Your servant.
For Your word’s sake and according to Your own heart,
You have done all these great things,
To make Your servant know them.

Therefore, you are great, O Lord God.
For there is none like You,
Nor is there any God besides You
According to all that we have heard with our ears.”
