Let’s Look at Psalms 119:

Psalms 119 indicates how significant the Scriptures are. Here are a few insights and highlights:

God’s Word is a treasure:

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Psalms 119:11

Have you hidden God’s Word in your hearts? What we keep in our hearts is important. Is it life-giving, and is it eternal?

For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.

Matthew 6:21

Keeping the Word in our hearts and lives makes it our treasure. Treasure and things that are meaningful to us sometimes are quickly taken away. When Jesus is our treasure, not material possessions, and the Bible and Jesus are a lasting and eternal treasure that cannot be taken away. We can keep and hold onto God’s Word.

God’s Word is a life source:

I am laid low in the dust; preserve my life according to your Word.

Psalms 119:25

God’s Word can give life, and Jesus said, He came to give us life abundantly in John 10:10.

God’s Word gives us strength:

My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your Word.

Psalms 119:28

God’s Word is the strength that keeps us going forward, hopeful about the future, and praising Him.

God’s Word guides us:

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Psalms 119:105

There are many times that we need to know God’s direction for our lives. We need to know what way to take next and what to do next. God’s Word and God can light our path and show us the way. He tells us He is our Shepherd.
