Dreaming of the Future

By Tanja

Imagine a world still waiting for the Saviour over 3000 years ago.

King David of Israel, was dreaming of the future when God would bring salvation. The day that God would complete His plan for restoring relationship with the people of the world.

The restoration was the plan. People had “turned away” from God, resulting in sin and distance from God.

Can you imagine confessing in your heart, “There is no God!” What would God be thinking? God doesn’t force anyone to come to Him; He is kind. However, just like it would be excruciating not to be noticed by someone you love, wouldn’t God be heartbroken? Is God missing out on a relationship with you?

King David knew who God was and experienced a close relationship with the Lord.

When Jesus came to us, Jesus showed us who God is by coming to the world. John 1:18 says, “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.”

Jesus said to us, “I am the door; I am the truth; I am the way!” It is through Jesus that we can come to know who God is. Your heart can turn to say, I have seen God, and I know He lives.

God is dreaming of the future where you will finally see that He loves you so much. Where you will finally see that He is your Saviour.
