An Escape

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:13‬)

Experiencing temptation is not in itself sinful. What becomes sin is when we entertain the temptation long enough to be drawn away and enticed. Sometimes the enemy thinks that he has us right where he wants us to be. The question is once we recognize that, do we stay in that position?

There is an escape out of every temptation and major trials are sent to test us, but these are often time limited. We have a lot more strength than we give ourselves credit for. God does not lie when he said he won’t allow us to be tempted beyond our ability and he would create a way out. You have the ability to come out of this challenge victoriously. As we use our God given ability to escape and don’t give in to the lies from the devil.

The devil is the father of lies and he couldn’t tell the truth even if he tried to. Our understanding of the word brings light and a revelation of the truth. The power that is in us is far greater than he that is in the world. We have great power, strength and ability that has been deposited in us to overcome.

Some temptations requires us to run away if necessary as there is no point in sticking around to see how strong you are. “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” (2 Timothy‬ ‭2:22‬) We also need people in our lives who can keep us accountable and who will be frank with us when we are doing wrong.

“Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.” (Proverbs‬ ‭10:17‬)

I am a trained Social Worker who currently provides professional leadership on a programme to support Social Work students and Newly Qualified Social Workers entering the Social Work Profession.

Born and raised in Jamaica in a Christian family where my father is an ordained Pastor and Deacon who has served for over 50 years in the ministry. My father is also a trained musician and our family can be described as a musical family. I grew up in a small farming community in St. Peter’s, St. Andrew and my parents also have a small farm.

I credit my gift of writing to my father who I watched and listened to over the years as he wrote sermons, poems and other recitals in his capacity in ministry. English has always been an easy subject for me and over the years I have developed an increased interest in writing.

I am a Trainer, I sing and have a passion for worship, the spoken word and the free flow of the prophetic anointing. I am married to my best friend Andrew Christopher Young who is an advanced Musician and whose music you can find on YouTube and Facebook. I am a trained Coach and Mentor and I love experimenting with food so I love cooking. I enjoy trying cultural dishes from across the world and I view food as an entry into cultures and languages.
