Christ Will Come in Glory to Be Glorified in Us
God created man so that He could be become life to man to be expressed through man. Through the death of Christ man has been redeemed from sin and death. Now we can believe into Jesus Christ and receive both forgiveness and eternal life.
Hebrews 2:10 speaks about those who have believed, who have become sons of God, that God is “leading many sons into glory.” This glory is His expression, in a limited way now, much more in the coming age, and extremely more with New Jerusalem.
Second Thessalonians 1:10 says “When He [the Lord] comes to be glorified in His saints and to be marveled at in all those who have believed in that day.” For Him to be glorified in His people is certainly a preview of New Jerusalem!
At His coming back, on the one hand He [Jesus Christ] will come from the heavens with glory (Rev. 10:1; Matt. 25:31), and on the other hand He will be glorified in His saints; that is, His glory will be manifested from within His members.*
Today Jesus Christ is living in His members. “Christ is our life” (Col. 3:4). He is renewing us by spreading within us now and at His return He will saturate our physical body. He “will transfigure the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of His glory” (Phil 3:21).
He will be glorified in us so that in every way we will match the glory of New Jerusalem.
