Do You Have A Good Heart or a Bad Heart? - Raising Zion

a good heart

Is your heart a good heart or a bad heart? How to know what is a good heart? Most non believers think they are good in general. How is that even possible when you have no benchmark? How does one measure themselves?

To have a good heart, start with Jesus

Only God is good. Out of His goodness, it pleased God to crucify Jesus for the salvation of mankind. God gave us His word to examine our lives. Jesus is our benchmark, our example to follow.

Jesus came to save souls, not destroy them. Yet the disciples with Jesus did not fully understand His purpose. They wanted to bring fire down on Samaria and burn them down. You can be a believer and still have horrid unsanctified natures in you.

The heart is deceitful, who can know it, says prophet Jeremiah. No matter how helpful or useful you are at home, church or work, a bad attitude is most dangerous.

A bad heart can never find joy during trial or wait for God. It’s always going to be full of murmuring and disputing. Impatient and angry, unable to bear others burdens or even think for others. Every good they do turns them into proud, and self entitled individuals.

You may be a believer but will stay ignorant and blind for years in life. Unable to learn from God or teachers and stay in a carnal mindset.

How to overcome a bad heart? Sow the word of God daily in yourself; meditate on His word. Nourish yourself in prayer. Let the rivers of living water flow and root and ground the word in you so you bear good fruit for the kingdom of God.

“But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”

Luke 8:15

Prepare yourself to meet Jesus as He appears in His eternal glory. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen.
