How good are you at letting Jesus' love in? - Divorce Minister

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

-John 13:34, NIV

I think this is the question when it comes to spiritual health. We were made for love as God is love (see I John 4:16). It essential for our well-being.

In fact, I believe we die apart from connection to God’s love.

This is all just a reminder that we need to consider how we let God love us. And I put it this way as I believe God is always working to demonstrate His unrelenting love for us. We just need eyes to see and ears to hear this love.

Take this day:

It is a gorgeous day as I write this. That gift is a gift of love from our Creator to us for those with eyes to see.

Things like that are everywhere. We just need to open our spiritual eyes and ears to recieve.

Gratitude is one way we do this. When we focus on the gifts in our life, we open our hearts to Jesus’ love of us.

I suspect this is why God instructs us to be thankful always (see I Thess 5:18). He knew we need to work to keep our hearts open to His love.

When going through the discard and spiteful treatment of a cheater, this is all so much more important. We need to reconnect to God who loves us through this difficult season. Sometimes, that might mean simply giving thanks for him understanding what it is like to be rejected and forsaken.

So, how good are you in letting in Jesus’ love? What are you going to do to grow in that area today?
