Fruit of the Spirit Affirmations— Goodness

Continuing onward in our look at each of the fruits of the Holy Spirit and how affirming them cultivates intentional mindfulness within us.

Affirmations are a statement intended to provide encouragement, emotional support, or motivation,

In Philippians 4:8, Paul gives us instructions on what we should think or meditate about.

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8— NLT

According to Wikipedia, In common language usage, “fruit” usually means the seed-associated fleshy structures (or produce) of plants that typically are sweet or sour and edible. The fruits of the Spirit are fine points that should naturally grow out of the proceedings of the Holy Spirit in our life.

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, Goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Galatians 5:22-23— NLT

Fruits of the Spirit affirmations are based upon Scripture to inspire us to cultivate the fruits of the Spirit in our daily lives. The word “Spirit” in these affirmations will be capitalized because these are fruits given to us by the Holy Spirit, not ourselves.

The fruits of the Spirit are:

  • Love
  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Patience
  • Kindness
  • Goodness
  • Faithfulness
  • Gentleness
  • Self-control

Goodness

Have you ever met someone who you thought to be good? By looking at their mannerisms, you could determine they were not only good but full of Goodness.

Goodness is a fruit that can be cultivated and grown in our lives. Goodness becomes an inherent and intrinsic part of who we are when it’s developed and used.

The Spirit intends for others to see our Goodness. We are to let our good actions be seen as a testament to Him.

We become thoughtful to act on behalf of others for their good selflessly.

Here are affirmations and verses about Goodness to help you as you pray for understanding about Goodness.

Visual Goodness

I choose to let others see Goodness in me through what I do for others.

My brothers and sisters, I am ultimately confident that you are full of Goodness, knowledge, and the ability to help and instruct one another.

Romans 15:14— VOICE

Illuminated Goodness

Walking through a dark room can lead to injury. The light makes our walk safer. The fruits of Goodness are God’s shining light in our spiritual life.

I choose to let His light shine through my actions; they are a way others can learn and know the Lord.

For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.

Ephesians 5:8-9,— NLT

Desired Goodness

We don’t have to preach great messages before crowds. And we don’t have to lead bible studies for hundreds.

My desire to do good directly responds to God’s calling in my life. My desire to show Goodness to others is part of His calling on my life.

With this in view, we constantly pray for you, that our God will count you worthy of your calling [to faith] and with [His] power fulfill every desire for Goodness, and complete [your] every work of faith

2 Thessalonians 1:11— AMP

Reflections

What does a day filled with the Spirit’s Goodness look like to me?

How can I be an example of Goodness today?
