Have you ever felt that those who โ€˜fall under the anointingโ€™ in Christian gatherings were more holy than you?

Or rather, that they have gotten to the point where they feel God better than you might have ever felt.

Then you start praying hard to get that feeling? You might not even be sure about the feeling youโ€™re looking for, but you tell yourself that when it comes youโ€™ll feel actually what you were waiting for.

What do you do on days when you experience this strong feeling of doubt and it feels like this journey of faith youโ€™re currently on doesnโ€™t feel like a journey anymore, because you donโ€™t feel like youโ€™re growing?

Then you start feeling guilty for having those feelings of doubt in the first place.

What do you do on those days when the guilt makes you postpone prayer dates and Bible study?

Then you start feeling guilty for missing these dates.

This is a friendly reminder that it is not in the feeling.

Whether you feel it or not, you are a Christian.

Whether you feel it or not, the love of Christ is here for you to stay.

Whether you get the goosebumps or not, whether you get the chilly feeling or not, it doesnโ€™t make you less of a joint heir with Christ.

Your walk with Christ is way beyond the feeling.

Would you want to get used to the back and forth all your life?

Staying happy and useful when you feel God is with you and sad and useless when you donโ€™t feel God?

Itโ€™s better to know what youโ€™ve got with God than consistently rely on feelings.

Iโ€™ll end with this saying from Watchman Nee:
โ€œIf you feel that Christ has died, He has died; and if you do not feel that he died, He has died. If you feel that you have died, you have died; and if you do not feel that you have died, you have nevertheless just as surely died. But whether I feel like it or not, when I am sleeping I am Mr. Nee and when I am awake I am Mr. Nee; when I remember it I am Mr. Nee and when I forget it I am still Mr. Nee.โ€
