25 Bible verses to remind you who you are in Jesus

Do you know who you are in Christ? 

Most of us struggle with our identity because we do not know how God sees us. 

Also, some Christians still wonder who they are for a long time, so they are still defeated when trials come. In fact, through Christ Jesus, we can overcome everything. 

To win in life, we need to have a strong foundation of who we are so any challenges will not shake us, no matter how difficult and painful.

Bible verses to remind us about our identity in Jesus

The only way to know who we are is to know how our Lord Jesus Christ sees us. We are so valuable to Him that He allowed Himself to pay the price of our sins. 

He loves us so much that He was willing to suffer on the cross, persecuted by humans, just to redeem our identity in God. 

Thus, here are some Bible verses to help us remember who we are in Jesus so we will live as conquerors.

You are loved 

If you ever think that no one loves you or you are not worthy of being loved. Here are some words from the Scripture to remind you that in Jesus Christ, you are loved and so much valued.

1. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” - Romans 5:8

2. “Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” -Romans 15:7

3. “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” - 1 John 3:1

4. “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit —fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name, the Father will give you. - John 15:16

5. “So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.” - Galatians 4:7

You are significant to God

It is tiring to find our value to others no matter how hard we try. Our efforts will never be enough to be important to them. 

Yet, you matter to our Heavenly Father that is why He sacrificed His beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to restore the broken relationship sin had caused. 

Here are some of God’s words to hold on to whenever we feel less important.

1. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful;  I know that full well.” - Psalm 139:14

2. “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” - John 1:12

3. “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

4. “I no longer call you servants because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything I learned from my Father I have made known to you. - John 15:15

5. “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love” - Ephesians 1:4

6. “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” - Galatians 3:13

7. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” - Romans 8:28

You are free 

Not all of us know that Jesus Christ did not just die and resurrect to free us from the bondage of sin. 

However, Jesus Christ also has given us freedom from shame, fear, and condemnation.

Thus, some of us are still afraid about doing something even though we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. 

Others still feel ashamed of their past sins and mistakes because of the cancel culture in this generation. 

Also, some of us still feel guilty even though God has already forgiven us for our sins. 

When we sincerely confess our sins to God, He is faithful and just to forgive and keep no records of our wrongs. Therefore, we are no longer slaves of our sins but free from shame, fear, and condemnation of this world. 

Remember these Bible verses to help us embrace and enjoy our freedom through Jesus Christ.

1. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” - Romans 8:1

2. “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace” - Ephesians 1:7

3. “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” - John 8:36

You are complete

Sometimes because of painful experiences, we could feel empty, or something is still missing from us. There is something in us that only God could fill and complete, not even our marriage, career, or material possessions here on earth. 

Additionally, sometimes we lose ourselves because of the death of our loved ones and feel incomplete. Yet, Jesus Christ filled the hole in our hearts to help us feel complete and satisfied no matter how difficult our sufferings are. 

The following Bible Verses can help us feel that we are complete in Jesus.

1. “And in Christ, you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.” - Colossians 2:10

2. “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” - 1 Peter 2:24

3. “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” - 2 Corinthians 5:21

4. “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” - Romans 8:37

You are gifted and powerful

Most of us cannot help but compare ourselves with others because our self-esteem in Christ is low. We do not embrace God-given gifts and tools, so we cannot maximize them for our purpose. 

However, through these Bible Verses, God would remind us that He has given us special gifts and resources so we could go beyond our boundaries and excel for His glory.

1. “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:7

You are more than what you think you are

Whenever you doubt yourself, always remember God’s amazing words to help you embrace who you are in Christ. 

Satan will attack you so that you will question or lose your identity, so you have to be aware and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
