You know… those heavy packs we carry around with us that God never meant for us to carry.

Correspondingly, we are burdened over our finances.

Also, we are burdened over our kids and grandkids.

And, we are burdened about our churches or our jobs.

Burdened about the country and the upcoming presidential election.

6 Uplifting Words for When You Are Burdened Down

Most of us believers are GREAT at carrying around heavy burdens.

However, God tells us to lay them down.

His Word instructs us to release our burdens–to lay them upon our great and capable God.

When we lay down our burdens, He will lift us up.

Today’s post offers encouragement on how we can lay those upsetting, unsettling, and unnecessary burdens down.

First, Uplifting Word #1

Do you ever have those days when you feel discouraged??

Indeed, David was having a tough day in Psalm 56. He’s been captured by the Philistines at Gath, and he’s praying for relief!

Over and over he repeats this idea… “I will put my trust in God.”

Maybe that’s something we can do as well when we are discouraged and weary!

Moreover, we can pray out and speak out our confidence in God. “In God, I have put my trust; I will not be afraid.” (v. 4,11). “I will trust in You.” (v. 3)

In fact, I’m praying that today we will put our hope and trust in God.

Second, Uplifting Word #2

Whether it’s waiting in the afternoon traffic, waiting at the doctor’s office, waiting for a phone call, or waiting for God to answer a prayer – I don’t enjoy it. And, I’ve noticed I’m not the only one.

Truly, as I’ve looked around while waiting, I’ve noticed I’m in very good company.  No one really likes to wait.
