    ~ Stayed with us?

~ What books had made a significant difference in our lives?

All of these books come highly recommended.

I happened on this book through the recommendation of a friend, and I’m so glad I did. It took me several months to read the entire volume, taking only a few pages at a time.

Packed with wisdom, author Gary Thomas takes a look back to wonderful writers of old and shares their insights with readers.

Topics include things like: simplicity, soul surgery, radical transformation, temptation, and joyful surrender.

This book has profoundly impacted my heart, and I plan to read it again and again. It’s a work I want to keep handy to be able to refer back to in the future.

    – Life changing possibilities on a scale of 1 to 10… 10.

My 25-year old son is quite the reader. This year, he has read countless books. However, when I asked him what he would recommend, he suggested this little volume.

The Red Sea Rules is a wonderful little book that will encourage you – especially if you feel that you are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Additionally, this short book offers practical suggestions for how to respond when you feel trapped and uncertain.

When I first read this short volume, our family was in a tight place – a place of feeling stuck. The words and the principles in this book greatly helped us and gave us perspective. I’ve gone back to it many times to read through its wisdom once more.

This book came as a recommendation from my mom. She happened upon the book while perusing suggestions on her Kindle Reader.

She loved this book, and she talked about the incredible impact author Andy Andrews had on her life perspectives.

To enjoy the small things, to savor the simple things, and to spend time making much of whatever God gives us to do – these are all essentials in this book.

It’s also a book that implores you to find joy in the life that you are living right now. Don’t wait for things to change; enjoy life today – no matter where you are or what is going on in your world.

    – Life-giving possibilities on a scale of 1 to 10… 10!

When I asked my husband for his life-changing book recommendation, he gave me this one. Ian Thomas is a favorite author of his, and he loves to use these books when mentoring younger men.

In fact, he has been working through the truths in this book with a young man all spring. They have both enjoyed, learned from, and greatly benefited from the truths in this inspirational volume.

A friend suggested this book to me a few weeks ago, and I picked up a copy. I have so enjoyed reading this book.

Written by a pastor, father, and husband, I’ve found the words to be funny, encouraging, and so good.

Author Brian Jones discusses the favor of God and what that means for believers. Does God’s favor mean health, wealth, travel, fun, and frills in life? It may, but it typically does not.

In fact, we can have God’s favor and be chronically ill, impoverished, and suffering as so many in scripture.

This book offers such a unique perspective and such refreshing honesty. I found myself taking a big sigh as a read and appreciating the balanced truth on the pages as I read.

    – Perspective changing possibilities on a scale of 1 to 10… 10!

Have you ever gotten to a place where you can’t take it anymore? You want to give up or pitch in the towel? Maybe in your dreams, job, or relationships? There are so many different areas where we feel like quitting.

And, when I picked up this book, I was ready to quit on some things. But, somehow through the honest stories, examples, and challenges of this book; I was given the impetus to press on.

I believe you will be encouraged to press on as well as you read through the pages and work through the practical activities in this book.

    – Hope-infusing possibilities on a scale of 1 to 10… 10!

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to visit the Fixer Upper stores and take a tour of Waco. It was fascinating to hear the stories and see the renovated homes and the updates to the city as a result of Magnolia Homes and Chip and Joanna Gaines.

Upon returning from my trip, I picked up this book and began to read Chip and Joanna’s story. I greatly enjoyed reading their story and hearing how it all began.

Beyond that, God used this book to remind me that He is sovereign and in control of our lives. His timing is perfect, and He works everything out for our good and for His glory.

Moreover, Chip and Joanna’s story reminded me that God carefully orchestrates the details of our lives. He has a master plan, and He is close, behind the scene of things working on our behalf.

Do you need to be reminded that the Creator of this universe cares about you and the details of your life? Do you want to be inspired to hope again?

    – Encouragement giving possibilities on a scale of 1 to 10… 10!
