A Label for Sin - A Nighttime Prayer

“My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” – 1 John 2:1 (NKJV)

Please Pray:

Jesus, I need Your forgiveness. This world is so corrupt, and I weary of the temptations that beset me. Please forgive me for all the times I fail to live up to Your commandments.

Forgive me for the sins of commission when I do all the things I shouldn’t do, and forgive my sins of omission when I’ve left things undone. You are so faithful to pardon my offenses, to tell me that they are no longer visible because they have been cast into the depths of the sea. Even more than that, I praise Your generous name because You have given me grace on top of the mercy—You continue to hold my hand firmly and keep my place in heaven secure.

Lord, please defend me today when I encounter the snares of Satan. I pray You will bear with me when I fall, when my resolution is weak. Please send Your Holy Spirit to be my Shield and Encourager, to rescue and guide me back to Your fold. O Great Shepherd, help me always to trust in Your power and faithfulness, to cast my burdens on You.

Transform my heart, soul, mind, and strength for Your glory. Give me Your joy and hope as You continue to teach me Your ways. Let me run to You with complete freedom and trust that You will always receive me. In Your name, Jesus, Amen.
