Introduction

Some years ago, I wrote the two interesting Bible Short Reports below:

• 13 Lies of the devil

• Doctrines of Demons

I was happy by the impact they both had on the readers judging from comments, reviews, and star ratings on online stores and through direct emails to me.

I believe the Spirit of God inspired me to write these short reports or ebooks at that time because of how the devil and his cohorts have increasingly bombarded the world with ungodly and anti-Word of God information.

God wants the people of the world to believe and for them to find the right information in His Word. 

Today, God still wants His children and the people of the world to be careful about how they find and absorb information that is contrary to His Word and the truth. 

If you know His Word intimately, you will not be swept away by every manner of doctrine or false information that are fast spreading through the nooks and crannies of our world today.

I am not surprised God is helping me to write another Bible Short Report in this regard, 15 Agents of False Information in Our Society Today. 

This short book will greatly help you. 

What Paul said

Apostle Paul wrote extensively about this false information and their spread by agents of the devil. He wanted Christians to beware. He wanted Christians to avoid people who spread ungodly information.

He wrote an interesting piece to his protegee, Timothy about these ungodly doctrines. Read it below:

1 Timothy 4:1-3

[1]Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,

[2]speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,

[3]forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

Paul also used very strong words against false information and their spread by agents of the devil in the book of Galatians. It was while I was studying this book that the Spirit of God inspired me with the title of this Bible Short Report. 

Read the various strong statements of Apostle Paul below:

Galatians 1:6

[6]I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,

He wondered why the people had fallen so easily for false information.

Galatians 1:7

7]which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.

He said the people who feed the Galatians and us false information are the major troublers of our lives. He said they are using their false information to pervert the gospel of Christ.

Galatians 1:8

[8]But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.

Paul was fierce and aggressive above. He prayed that those who feed the people false information be accursed.

Galatians 1:9

[9]As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

Paul was so angry that he repeated the prayers of verse 8.

Galatians 3:1

[1]O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?

Paul openly called the Galatians people who have been bewitched and foolish. This means any one who allows himself or herself to be fed with false information and who embraces it is foolish and bewitched. This also means those who feed the people false information are witches.

Galatians 3:1,3

[1]O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified?

[3]Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?

Paul said the Galatians were foolish to have embraced false doctrines. 

Those were ways Apostle Paul saw the practice of the spread and acceptance of false information or ungodly information.

That should show you the importance of this topic and this Bible Short Report (BSR).

Now let’s go to the first agent of false information. He is the chief among them. He is also the one behind most of the agents of false information you will be reading in this book. 

Who is he? Let’s go to the next chapter.

Chapter 1: Agents of false information: The devil is the chief propagator 

The devil is an expert in this. He did that to Eve in the Garden of Eden, to Sarah in Genesis, to Jesus in the wilderness. 

He speaks to your mind. He is the chief source of the evil mind battle. When he gains access to your mind with false information, he can gain access to your life because as a man thinks, so is he. 

You’re principally a product of your thought.

What to do

Guard your heart with all diligence. 

Proverbs 4:23

[23]Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

Study the Word daily. If you want to consistently defeat the devil in this regard, then you must be ready and determined to embrace the right information. 

The Bible is where you can always find the right information. The devil will not want you to read and study the Bible, so you must be ready for a fight in this regard. 

But the fight is a winnable one. Jesus ensured you will be victorious every time you enter the battle ground to fight over 2000 years ago when He died on the Cross and resurrected on the third day.

You must personally know the Word by studying it regularly to keep the devil subdued and to stop him from influencing you with false information.

I am glad we started with that. Now, what is the next agent of false information in our society today? This one is also very strong and it is making lots of people disregard or disrespect the Word of God or making Christians walk without faith.

Chapter 2: Circumstances and events can influence you

Circumstances like the economy of your country, your lean bank account, your lack of education, poor family background, etc. can also influence you with the wrong or ungodly information.

Events like the war in your country, negative experiences, loss of a bread winner or a relative, etc. are also agents of false information in society.

Studying the story of Judas Iscariot, I observed that he allowed circumstances and events around him to influence him with the wrong or false information and this led him to betray the Lord.

Judas wanted a leader that will help the Jews against the injustice and misrule of the Romans. He wanted a leader that would lead them into the battlefield with spears and other physical war tools to fight the Romans.

Jesus’ style of leadership was not what he expected. He wanted more. With circumstances and the events happening around him since he began following Jesus, he did not believe the Jews would be able to come out of the rule and the injustice of the Romans.

So Judas allowed the circumstances and events around him to teach him false information. He stepped forward to act on the false information.

What to do

Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12: 1-2). You are expected to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Circumstances should not dictate your life, God and His Word should. Paul said,

Galatians 5:1

[1]Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Jesus said to the devil: “Man shall not live by bread alone.” He was hungry but He won’t allow the hungry circumstances to feed Him false information. He won’t act on the false information the devil was supplying to Him at that point of need. Jesus would not allow the devil to influence Him.

You should not allow circumstances and events around you to allow the devil to influence you with wrong and evil information. Circumstances and events do change and you can always be in control if you put God, His Word, and His Spirit in control of your life.

In the next chapter, all of us have the next agent in our lives in one way or the other. Who are they? Find out in the next chapter.

Chapter 3: Close friends can be close agents 

I want to believe Judas Iscariot wouldn’t have had the confidence and the courage to approach the scribes and the priests when he planned to betray Jesus if he had not been relating with them secretly. 

Close friends and associates can be agents of putting false information into your mind and life. 

1 Corinthians 15:33

[33]Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

But close friends or bad friends won’t have a chance to mislead you if you had carefully chosen your friends. I agree some good friends can still pass false information across to you. 

The more reason you must first make God’s Word your closest friend. This way, you can’t be misled or influenced by false information anymore.

What to do

Don’t call anyone a close friend unless you have spiritually and morally tested the person.

1 John 4:1

[1]Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

I only call someone a close friend if the person can positively influence me spiritually. So my Christian mentors are close friends to me, even the ones I have not met at all. I meet them regularly through their books and teachings.

Please carefully choose your friends. Your business partners don’t need to be close to you. You can do business without being close friends.

The agent discussed in the next chapter has blinded the minds of lots of people, especially in Africa. Who are they? Find it out in the next chapter.

Chapter 4: Pastors or spiritual leaders can teach wrong things 

It’s the end time and we are seeing an astronomical rise in the emergence of false prophets/teachers/pastors/spiritual leaders. 

The Bible warned us severally about the emergence of false prophets. Read Apostle John’s message below:

1 John 4:1

[1]Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Can we stop their emergence? The direct answer is, No! The Word of God says they will emerge in their multitudes in this end time.

So what can we do?

Let me give you this simple illustration. Can you stop birds from flying in the sky above your head? I believe you have seen them do that many times.

But you can stop or chase away any bird that tries to perch on your head. Yes, you can do that.

You can stop any fake pastor or spiritual leader that tries to feed you with false information. You should stop them!

Anyone you allow gaining hold of your mind with false or ungodly information has taken a hold of your entire life because as a man thinks so is he (Proverbs 23:7).

What to do

Pray and wait for God’s direction before you join a church. Don’t ever call anyone a spiritual father unless God has shown you in a revelation.

Don’t elevate pastors and men of God above God, your Maker, and their Maker. Do not put your trust in men (Psalm 146:3).

Know the Bible for yourself. Pass every information you receive even in the church through a test. Even the Word of God is tried seven times. Read it below:

Psalms 12:6

[6]The words of the Lord are pure, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.

A caution here: Don’t expect your pastor to be perfect. Don’t do that. Don’t use every mistake from your pastor to judge him or her. You must be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. 

Remember that Samuel grew under the watch and roof of Prophet Eli. God did not ask her mother to take him away from his house.

Let God guide you. Check the fruits of a spiritual leader very well, if it’s contrary to the Word of God, you can leave the church. But let the Holy Spirit guide you to another church of worship.

Chapter 5: Parents can lead you astray 

The Spirit of God has shown me, over the years, how parents have influenced their children with ungodly information. I’m planning to write a whole book on this. 

Naturally, parents are supposed to be the first known mentors of their children. They are supposed to be the first spiritual parents. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.

We have ungodly parents, so they are more likely to pass on ungodly information to their children. Children must watch out!

I have observed the following playing out in this type of case:

•  Parents have no regard for God and His Word so they can’t give their children what they don’t have.

• Some parents, as they grow older and become more comfortable, usually lose their spiritual strength and thirst for God. So, at this stage, they become a bad influence on their children.

• Some parents are selfish. They just want their children to do their bidding every time even if it is contrary to God’s Word and His will for their children.

• Some parents allow their ungodly friends to dictate the instructions they give to their children.

• Some parents are cultists so they always want to perpetuate their evil activities in their children. They want their children to take positions in their cult groups.

Eli was a bad influence on his children. Pharaoh raised an evil son in Pharaoh that came on board who does not know Joseph. 

That evil son of Pharaoh so much angered God that God said, He created him for destruction (Exodus 9:16). His Pharaoh father did a bad job.

We also have several kings of Israel who raised bad successors. They fed them with the wrong information and this corrupted them.

What to  do

If you are still young and you still live under the roof of your parents, you can resort to prayers for your parents. I’m saying this only if you have seen the light and you are of a decent young age where you know your right hand from your left hand.

For children between the ages of 7 and 13, I believe the grace of God will cover them because there may be little they can do in this situation.

For adult children, you can reject false or ungodly information from your parents. You can tell them their advice, suggestion, or commandment in some cases is contrary to the Word of God. 

You should learn to stand your ground. Do it politely but with strong conviction and seriousness.

Chapter 6: School Teachers can also teach you wrongly 

For many years now, I have preached against parents putting children in boarding schools at the secondary or high school level in my country. I strongly believe children should only go to a place called a boarding home or live independently when they get to college or the university.

I was a school teacher for many years in high school. I was a hostel master for some years. I have observed how some teachers have been a bad influence on students.

Most schools today in my country do not screen incoming teachers very well before they are employed. So in the process of employing teachers in schools, they bring in agents of evil information.

I once read how false teachers, at all levels, put evil information into Adolf Hitler from his teenage years to adulthood. From his parents, some school teachers, and the books he read, He grew to become a monster that he became believing the Jews were the problems of the world. 

He reached out his evil heart and mind to exterminate them. It’s on record that he killed over a million Jews before his end came.

Your teachers are not God! You can reject any other evil or false information they pass across to you apart from what they teach you academically.

Some teachers are just principal agents of the devil planted by the devil to influence students negatively.

The Psalmist said he is wiser than his teachers. If your teacher is ungodly or not a Christian and you are one, then you are wiser than him. 

You have access to a superior relationship than him or her (a close Father and son relationship with God). You have what he or she does not have. So give him or her all the regard as your academic teacher but don’t let him or her influence you wrongly.

What to do 

Enjoy your academic class. Enjoy a Christian teacher who teaches you the way of God. Enjoy studying the Word Of God.

If you are in high school, report every false information and advice from your teacher to your parents or guardian. Discuss every piece of advice from your teachers with your parents.

Chapter 7: Social Media/Internet is the necessary evil today 

Social media is the rave of the moment now in terms of spreading false information. This online wonder is just built perfectly for this.

Trust the devil and his cohorts, they have been exploiting this good technological innovation for their evil practice of spreading ungodly information.

Thank God for devoted Christians and some other morally-upright people who have used these platforms for the right reasons. But the evil-minded people have also used them for the wrong reasons.

You must be careful with how you use the information on social media. There are a lot of lies from the pit of hell on this platform. 

The video section of Facebook is filled with lots of immoral content. Users upload these evil contents to gain likes, comments, fans, etc. Some do it to fulfill the cause of the devil.

Social media is one of the most potent platforms today to spread false information in our society. Users have free access to the platforms to post texts, and pictures, and upload videos. They can post ungodly and anti-biblical information at any time without any penalty or warning from the owners or management of the platforms.

This is dangerous freedom. A freeform that allows the cause of the devil to be supported and given a strong voice.

The Bible warns that we must not do and teach others anti-biblical information. If you have been using social media and the internet for the wrong reasons, you must be careful and must change your ways. Every word or act from anyone will be judged in the end.

What to do

Avoid what I call itchy posts on social media. What are itchy posts in this case?

They are ungodly contents. They are information that makes you uncomfortable.

Avoid them. You don’t have to read every post or use every piece of information on social media. Some contents waste your time, pollute your mind and turn you against God and His Word. Be wise.

 Chapter 8: BillBoards and Traditional Media

There are what I call ancient false information propagators. They are as old as our world.

I have observed how immoral content on these platforms has been on the increase. The more our world grows older, the more sophisticated television, radio, and BillBoards become in spreading false information and ungodly content. 

Competition in the marketplaces and the strong desire to make profits have driven the owners and users of these platforms to get more involved in these ungodly acts.

Agreed, there are exceptions. There are platforms in these categories that are different and that have morals as part of their profession and business dealings.

There are also government moderators or agencies that have been put in place in different countries to put these media channels in check but their activities have not been strong enough to put all these under check.

The devil’s agents are always available in our society and they have access to lots of money to have their ways and fill our society with ungodly information.

These days you have to close your eyes even while driving to keep your eyes and heart away from the nude images on billBoards in the cities. You have to ensure you are always in check for the programs your children watch on television. It’s as bad as that!

What to do

Keep your heart with all diligence. God, though His Word has given you that responsibility. You have to guard your heart with all diligence.

Keep and guard are strong verbs. You must take this as a very important duty. Take your eyes away when a billBoard is filed with ungodly contents. Go to another channel on television if you don’t like what you see on one channel.

Chapter 9: Government’s anti-God policies 

Over the years (even from Bible days), the government’s anti-God policies have been a major antagonist to God and His Word. Government policies in many countries have been strong agents of false information 

Some laws and regulations have been put in place in many European countries and American nations that are clearly against God’s Word.

There are evil laws promoting lesbianism, homosexuality, and abortion, and their likes. 

Some countries have kicked against the study of Biblical studies in high schools. 

There are laws to forbid parents from disciplining their children in some European countries and some states in the United States. Yet the Bible says, 

Proverbs 13:24

[24]He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.

There are also demonic laws in these countries that encourage marital divorce. This is the reason why the rate of divorce is ever on the increase in these societies and countries. Marriages, homes, and families are under the attack of the devil and the government’s demonic laws. 

When we continue to have societies that cannot hold families together then we are not ready to build a future that we can hold together. Our children won’t learn the virtues of perseverance, tolerance, and patience that are needed by future leaders.

Former President of the United States of America, Barrack Obama became an evangelist of same-sex marriage during his tenure. I am happy that he failed with many of his overtures in African countries. 

Will this end very soon? The simple answer is: No! It won’t. These is the end times. As long as ungodly people continue to get into leadership positions in countries of the world, we won’t stop seeing these types of demonic laws in these countries. 

As long as Christians keep their mouth shut by not speaking against this ungodliness, we will continue to see these ungodly laws coming into place.

What to do

Pass every law of your land through the test of the Word of God. Your government is not your God. While you’re duty bound to be a lawful citizen, you are not duty bound to abide by demonic laws. 

Study God’s Word more, and hold fast to what it teaches you. Avoid and discard demonic laws. 

In a situation where you’re bound and you’re faced with demonic laws in your country, you should form a prayer group to pray against demonic laws in your country. Don’t keep quiet in the face of demonic laws in your country. You can pray a demonic government away.

We did that in my country (Nigeria) some years ago. The Ibrahim Babangida and Sani Abacha regimes were bad but I believe they were dislodged by the prayers of Christians. 

A popular man of God in the country asked his congregation to shout a happy new year in a program they were holding in June. The following morning, the bad government of Sani Abacha was gone.

For those of you in workplace, the next agent of false information may be one you have experienced or you may experience in the future. Read more in the next chapter.

Chapter 10: Your boss is not your God 

In my soon-to-be-released triquel to my best-selling novel, The Prostitute, Jezebel, Steve Davies, a company executive rejected and fought a fierce battle with his boss who was part of a demonic and notorious secret cult who had spread their evil tentacles deep into the corporate world in his country.

Steve rejected their invitations and overtures, and fought physical and spiritual battles to win a battle that crushed his economy and almost crushed his cherished family.

Steve showed employees that they don’t have to agree and follow their boss’s or employers’ evil rules or instructions.

I once had a teaching contract with a big school in my country to prepare their final year students for the school certificate examination.

I did my job on the students before the examination. But on the examination day, the school owner wants me to help the students commit examination malpractices. I rejected their instructions and that ended the contract.

Your Boss is not your God! Your employer is not your Maker! 

God is your God and your Maker. Obey only Him and His Word.

What to do

Reject politely any ungodly instructions from your boss. Don’t take up any appointment if you find anything ungodly in the way they operate.

Pray to God and seek His face and help if you find out your employer or Boss is into ungodly business activities after you have taken up the appointment. 

Resign if necessary. God can provide you with a better job. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added to you (Matthew 6:33).    He, only, owns the earth (Psalm 24).

Don’t go into immortality with your Boss to save your job. Don’t do that! You will lose your destiny, dignity, and later your job. You may even lose your life!

Some years ago in my country, some bank executives began to recruit young ladies who desperately wanted jobs, as field and sales executives. These ladies were to go around in executive cars to persuade different owners of companies and organizations to patronize their banks.

Most of these ladies fell for these evil tactics. They committed fornication and put their bodies and destinies on the line for these company owners and executives to win their businesses and patronage.

This is purely evil. You don’t embrace a false idea and injure your destiny because of gaining a business. Mist of these ladies injured and destroyed their destinies!

Someone very close can also be an agent of false information. Find it out in the next chapter.

Chapter 11. Beware of your school mates

In my first year at the Polytechnic as a Mechanical Engineering student, a friend and a fellow student tried to introduce me to a student’s secret cult group.

His invitation statement was well delivered. He said while we took a walk back to our hostel after the evening study in the classroom, “Sesan, let me take you to join a secret cult group. You will enjoy the group. They are harmless. You will always have every provision you need from this group. They will always provide the girlfriends you need on campus.”

You will agree with me that the statement above contains lots of enticing and juicy offers and benefits for a young, needy and inexperienced student like me. 

The evil word came from a school mate!

Well, I rejected the invitation and future overtures from this guy.

Many students and young ones have been led into secret cult groups and to their death by school mates. Some students have embarked on journeys of no return because they heed the advice of a fellow schoolmate to go on such journeys.

Some young ones have embraced evil vices and habits because a school mate influenced them.

Evil communication corrupts good manners. If you love to associate with ungodly friends or ungodly school mates, you are putting yourself In a dangerous position to be influenced by false and ungodly information and lies from the pit of hell.

Come to think of it, a bad tree cannot produce good fruits. Bad friends cannot produce and supply godly information. 

What to do

How do you recognize a bad friend?

You can recognize an evil friend by observing their fruits. What do I mean by their fruits?

Their fruits are the confessions they make and the actions they carry out unconsciously. Agreed, some people can fake their identity by even speaking or confessing the Word of God but there are unconscious moments where they will produce from the seeds inside them 

Jesu said, Matthew 7:16-18

[16]You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?

[17]Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

[18]A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.

That was what He gave to us as a good check or to recognize ungodly people. 

No one can disconnect himself or herself from the contents inside him or her. It’s not possible. At unconscious moments, you will produce what you are on the inside.

Chapter 12: Don’t fall into the hands of your business partner 

Over the years, the Spirit of God has helped me to warn people about sins in the marketplace and workplaces. These two territories represent places where we make a living. They are places where we spend most of our days.

The devil understands what money and making a living represent in our lives. So he and his agents are very active in these two territories.

The devil wants you to submit to ungodliness in your workplace to gain a promotion or gain extra bucks. He wants you to embrace iniquity in the marketplace by cheating people to make more profits.

There are people in these territories who have already submitted to the lordship of the devil. They have become his agents of spreading false information in the marketplaces and workplaces. 

They tell you nothing is wrong if you act dishonestly in the workplace to gain a promotion or a raise in salary. They get you involved in ‘sharp’ or dirty business deals and make you understand that it is not evil to do so. They tell you it is the normal business practice in the industries.

Beware! You should be careful. You must pass every advice, instruction, and directive from anyone in these territories through the test of the Word of God. If they can’t pass the test of the Word, don’t get involved.

Daniel did the will of God in the workplace. Joseph did the will of God in the workplace and marketplace. Abraham operated a righteous business. Same with Isaac. 

Jacob made an interesting declaration to show how he never got involved in sins of the workplace. Read it below:

Genesis 31:5-7

[5]and said to them, “I see your father’s countenance, that it is not favorable toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me.

[6]And you know that with all my might I have served your father.

[7]Yet your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me.

Samuel did the same below: 

1 Samuel 12:3-6

[3]Here I am. Witness against me before the Lord and before He anointed: Whose ox have I taken, or whose donkey have I taken, or whom have I cheated? Whom have I oppressed, or from whose hand have I received any bribe with which to blind my eyes? I will restore it to you.”

[4]And they said, “You have not cheated us or oppressed us, nor have you taken anything from any man’s hand.”

[5]Then he said to them, “The Lord is witness against you, and His anointed is witness this day, that you have not found anything in my hand.” And they answered, “He is witness.”

[6]Then Samuel said to the people, “It is the Lord who raised up Moses and Aaron, and who brought your fathers up from the land of Egypt.

Paul also did likewise below:

2 Thessalonians 3:7-10

[7]For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you;

[8]nor did we eat anyone’s bread free of charge, but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you,

[9]not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us.

[10]For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.

The man said they were not disorderly among them. They did not work and walked dishonestly in the workplace. 

What to do

There is nothing as important as staying in the will of God for you. Don’t abandon the will of God to follow the evil advice of that ungodly business partner or colleague or boss.

I want you to observe Exodus 34:16 about how a bad relationship can pollute you and your relationship with God.

You should wait to see the next agent of false information. It’s so close to you and can either help you or destroy you. 

Chapter 13: A book can make or mar you 

Adolf Hitler was the singular cause of the second world war. He took a selfish and evil decision to wipe out the Jews. 

He wanted his country, Germany to rule the world with him sitting at the helm of affairs. He died a shameful death.

While I was researching for a course on how school teachers can be more effective and how they can begin to allow God and His Word to direct how they do their works, I discovered that Adolf Hitler read from books at the early stages of his life that the Jews were the problems of the world. So, with such evil information rooted in his heart and mind, he developed a personal hatred for the Jews.

When he rose to become the President of Germany and with enormous power and the military now within his control, he took steps to actualize his evil and long-term goals and ambition.

Books can make or mar you. Books can contain the positive nutrients and goodness that can nourish your life and destiny to fruitfulness. They can also contain the poison that can destroy your life and destiny!

Books did just that to Adolf Hitler and Germany during the second war. Sadly, it has done that to so many other unsuspecting people in our world.

Books are one of the major carriers of false information. Agents of the devil usually put their evil reports and thoughts inside books. Unsuspecting people can be swayed towards ungodliness when they read and digest the contents of these types of books.

I was reading one of my daughter’s many articles and she was encouraging her readers to read books with the statement, “God wants you to read always and that’s the reason why Jesus always say, ‘Have you not read.'”

I believe that has passed to you a very clear message about why you should be a reader of books. You are not just expected to read books but good and Godly books. 

We also have books that we call anointed books written by people who God has given special grace for such topics.

Paul was a great reader of books. He said to his protegee, Timothy, 

2 Timothy 4:13

[13] Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come—and the books, especially the parchments.

Daniel understood by books. Daniel 9:2

[2]in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the Lord through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.

Many successful men and women have testified about how reading books have helped them to climb the success ladder.

Books can carry false information. They are major carriers of false information today. You must be choosy about the books you read.

What to do

Read and study the Bible – it’s the Book of books. Read good and Godly books in the line of your trade or profession. Read books from anointed or called pastors or Christians.

The next agent of false information is a strange one. Believe me. I know you will be surprised to see that. Go to the next chapter.

Chapter 14: The strange agent 

You can be the source of false information to yourself! I am sure you are surprised to read that. 

You can be the one selling false and ungodly information to yourself. Agreed, this can be the silent works of the devil against you but sometimes, you are still responsible for the false information that can creep into you and settle down in your mind.

How do you supply false information to yourself?

You can supply false information to yourself in the following ways:

• When you are fond of reading ungodly books or magazines or websites.

• When you are comfortable and enjoy the company of bad friends

• When you like to confess ungodly things. You should know that what you confess usually ends up filling your heart with such information. . The Bible says in Proverbs 18:20,

[20]A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips, he shall be filled. If your confession is ungodly, then you will end up filling your heart and mind with ungodly information.

• When you allow worry and anxiety. Your mind and heart are open to allowing or embracing false information when you allow worry and anxiety. The Bible commands us not to be worried and anxious.The Bible also says, Isaiah 26:3

[3]You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You Because he trusts in You. Jesus says you can’t add a cubit of hair to your head with your worries and anxiety.

• When you allow fear. Just like worry and anxiety, fear also opens your mind and heart to false information. You are more likely to embrace false information when your heart and mind are always dominated by fear. God is so kind and He has not given us the spirit of fear. So when fear comes knocking at the door of your heart and mind, rise and bind the spirit of fear. 

What to do

You can stop yourself from being an agent of false and ungodly information to yourself if you look critically at the tips mentioned above and take the necessary precautions. 

Your best bet is to be a diligent student of the Word of God. You must always subject every piece of information that creeps into your mind to the test of the Word of God.

Discover another strong one in the next chapter. Everyone can fall for this. 

Chapter 15: The Culture agent can be so strong 

Culture has always been a very strong agent of false or ungodly information. This is, especially, true in Africa where I hail from. Though, culture poses almost the same threat in other regions of the world.

I want you to read the following statement from Apostle Paul about Apostle Peter:

Galatians 2: 11-14

[11]Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed;

[12]for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.

[13]And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.

[14]But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live in the manner of Gentiles and not as the Jews, why do you compel Gentiles to live as Jews?

What do you think made Peter behave that way?

It was the Jewish cultural beliefs that have been in existence for a long time. These beliefs were contrary to the gospel of Jesus Christ especially as it relates to salvation to non-Jews. Paul said that much in verse 14.

Peter had known the truth that Gentiles or non-Jews don’t have to undergo circumcision for them to be saved. His experience in the house of Cornelius taught him an interesting lesson. 

So before his fellow Jews came around, “he did eat with the Gentiles” (verse 12). “But when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them who were of the circumcision.” ( verse 12).

Even Barnabas, a close associate of Paul, “was carried away with their dissimulation.” (verse 13).

The Jewish culture and beliefs were very strong and were fighting the simple truth about the gospel of Jesus Christ and salvation for non-Jews. Even with the anointing of Peter, cultural beliefs shook him to the root!

Beware! Agreed, some cultural beliefs are good and are not contrary to God’s Word but there are a lot of them that are completely contrary to God’s will or Word. 

The devil and his agents are already exploiting the situation to make people (including Christians) disobey God and put them in perpetual bondage.

Check out the cultural beliefs and practices in your community and see the ones that are against the Word of God as we have it in the Bible. You must do this immediately. 

If you find out that you have been practicing activities or beliefs that are against the Word of God, you should run to the cross of Jesus Christ to receive mercy from God. 

Stop the practice or repent instantly and continue to plead the blood of Jesus Christ.

Chapter 16: Understand the use of information 

I hope you enjoyed this Bible Short Report. You need to understand how God and the devil use information. God uses it for your good and the good of the earth but the devil, who loves to pervert the things and ways of God, uses it to harm you and keep you in bondage.
