Are You Praying the Psalms? Part 2

Last week I talked about the power of praying a Psalm – the first Psalm.

Today I looked at Psalm 2. I chose a few sections and made prayers.

Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?

Father, You tell us to pray for those in authority – even those who do not follow you. Even when they lie, they conspire, they cheat and they don’t follow Your laws.

Others want to bring them down –

Let us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.

but You, Lord, You tell us to pray for them and you laugh.

The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.

You laugh because You know the outcome. We do not need to fear. We need to ask for Your help and pray.

Ask me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.

And we pray that You will rule with an iron sceptre (Revelation 12:5)
