You’ve heard the old “sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me.”
But, that phrase is a total lie. Words are powerful and they form us. We are the product of Words that have shaped us over the years.
Words shape our identity, value, relationships, money, purpose, peace, future....
But, the question is, whose words have we allowed to most shape us or which words am I going to for life, affirmation and purpose? Many of us are trying to get life from the well of people’s affirmation but it’s a well that runs out and cannot satisfy.
But, Jesus words, The Bible, are the source of life, hope and purpose. God’s Word is not only life, but strength. And Jesus said when we build our life on His word we will STAND when storms come.
So, if the storms and difficulties in life keep knocking you over, you may be PROPPED UP by others words or your own but when you are BUILT UP by God’s Word you stand and thrive even in the storm!
