Did Dr. Peter Ruckman Teach You Must Know the Blood to Be Saved? NO. (The Truth)

Dr. Peter Ruckman responds to Robert Breaker: do you have to trust in the blood of Christ to be saved? Acts 2, Acts 3, the Ethiopian eunuch, and how to have assurance of salvation.

Dr. Peter S. Ruckman:

[00:00] The touch, touchstone is not, not even just what you just believe. The

people at Pentecost were all saved, and none of them knew anything about the

imputed righteousness of Christ. Peter never mentioned the blood in the whole

chapter!

[00:16] He didn't mention Christ dying for anybody's sins in Roman, in Acts

chapter 2, and they all got saved and got the Holy Spirit. And didn't have any

assurance because nobody even talked, why, he didn't talk about the blood

atonement in Acts chapter 3! He said, "Your sins'll get blotted out when the

Lord comes back." He didn't even know, Peter didn't know they were blotted out

now, after he'd been preaching for two or three years!

[00:43] But they were saved right then when they, when they did what? When they

received Christ. It's when you receive Christ, you're saved. And when you

receive Christ, you receive Him. (chuckles) "Come in." (audience laughter) "I

accept You. I want You. I need You. Please help me." You go to Him! And you

receive Him. And when you receive Him, you get the whole luggage, baggage

luggage, because He brings it with Him. When you take Him, you take the imputed

righteousness of God, and you've got God's righteousness.

Audience Member:

Amen.

Dr. Peter S. Ruckman:

[01:16] It's when did you receive Him? That's when. Well, if you did when you

were five or six year old, that's when you're saved. So we teach them to believe

on Christ and ask Him to save them.

Audience Member:

That's right.

Dr. Peter S. Ruckman:

[01:27] Well, maybe a hun, maybe isn't a hundred percent, but boy, if, if they,

if, if, if, if they're sincere, and most, I believe most of them are, it'll

work.

[01:36] Now that's the kind of mess you get into. Uh, you, you want to find out

whether you're saved, it's real simple. If you don't, if you don't know you're

saved, don't have assurance, I can tell you how to get assurance. You might have

been saved thirty, forty years ago, I don't know. If you could thought you were

saved then, maybe you were, maybe, I wasn't there. But I can tell you how to

know you're saved right now.

[01:56] All you have to do is ask yourself this one question, Christian: What am

I trusting to keep me out of hell? Right now.

[02:07] I take for granted you trusted Him back then when you did it. I preach

hell to the kids. I tell them they're going to hell without Christ. Tell them

they need Christ, give invitation to receive Christ. If they're sincere, that's

done.

[02:20] Ask yourself right now: What am I trusting to keep me out of hell? And

when, when you land on that right thing, if you're trusting nothing but the

blood of Christ to save you, you are saved! Whether you understood that or not.

[02:36] That old Dewey Morris and that fellow over there, Breaker, are going

around saying, "Well, you, you got to have the blood in your confession of

faith. If you don't pray for the blood of Christ to save and the blood that's

been shed, " Philip led that Ethiopian eunuch to the Lord, and the word "blood"

isn't mentioned one time in that conversion.

Audience Member:

That's right.

Dr. Peter S. Ruckman:

[02:53] You say he's reading in Isaiah 53. You won't find the word "blood" in

Isaiah 53!

Audience Member:

That's right.

Dr. Peter S. Ruckman:

[03:00] It isn't there! And it's on the atonement.

Audience Member:

Amen.

Dr. Peter S. Ruckman:

[03:04] (mocking babbling) That's what you're getting from those fellows. You're

getting a bunch of dumb, stupid people who can't read the Bible. (chuckles) I

say that with charity, of course. (audience laughter)

Robert Breaker - The Message of the Blood:

[03:18] So I went through the same thing, and a lot of other people we meet, the

same thing. It's so weird, it seems like they always say, "When I was five years

old..." Five's the number of death, you know? So, (chuckles) "Oh, when you're

five, you got..." and they think they're saved because they said something. But

my question is: Okay, but did you trust in the blood at the same time?

Robert Breaker - Opening a Can of Worms When it Comes to Salvation:

[03:37] So what if they ask God to save them, and they say that little prayer,

but they haven't trusted in the blood? Are they saved yet? Well, no.

Dr. Peter S. Ruckman (Replay):

[03:45] Ask yourself right now: What am I trusting to keep me out of hell? And

when, when you land on that right thing, if you're trusting nothing but the

blood of Christ to save you, you are saved! Whether you understood that or not.

[03:59] That old Dewey Morris and that fellow over there, Breaker, are going

around saying, "Well, you, you got to have the blood in your confession of

faith. If you don't pray for the blood of Christ to save and the blood that's

been shed." Philip led that Ethiopian eunuch to the Lord, and the word "blood"

isn't mentioned one time in that conversion.

Audience Member:

That's right.

Dr. Peter S. Ruckman:

[04:16] You say he's reading in Isaiah 53. You won't find the word "blood" in

Isaiah 53!

Audience Member:

That's right.

Dr. Peter S. Ruckman:

[04:23] It isn't there! And it's on the atonement.

Audience Member:

Amen.

Dr. Peter S. Ruckman:

[04:28] (mocking babbling) That's what you're getting from those fellows. You're

getting a bunch of dumb, stupid people who can't read the Bible. (chuckles) I

say that with charity, of course. (audience laughter)
