Discovering Inner Strength: How to Tap into Your Source of Renewal
"But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." – Isaiah 40:31
Today, I want to explore a verse that resonated deeply with me, Isaiah 40:31. This verse speaks of hope, endurance, and the renewing power of waiting upon the Lord.
In our fast-paced world, where instant results are often sought after, the idea of waiting can seem challenging and almost counterintuitive. Yet, there's profound wisdom and strength to be discovered in this waiting.
When Isaiah speaks of those who wait for the Lord to renew their strength, it's not passive waiting. It’s not sitting idly by, hoping for things to change. Rather, it's an active, expectant waiting.
It's a waiting filled with hope and trust. It's knowing that He will act in God's perfect timing; thus, despair is unnecessary.
Consider the eagle mentioned in this verse. Eagles are known for their strength, soaring high with seemingly effortless grace. They use the wind to lift them higher without much flapping of their wings.
This is a beautiful metaphor for our spiritual journey. When we wait upon the Lord, we learn to rise above our circumstances, using our challenges as winds to lift us higher, closer to God.
This verse also talks about running, not growing weary, walking, and not fainting. Life, as we all know, can be a marathon, not a sprint. Sometimes, we feel we can't go on when our problems and challenges seem insurmountable.
But here’s the beautiful promise – we find the strength to persevere in God. He renews our strength, allowing us to face each day with renewed vigor and hope.
So, how do we tap into this source of renewal? First and foremost, it begins with a relationship. Just like any relationship, our relationship with God requires time and effort.
It involves talking to Him through prayer, listening through reading His Word, and seeking His presence in our daily lives. When we invest in our relationship with God, we find ourselves more attuned to His guidance and peace.
Secondly, it involves trust. Trusting in God's timing can be hard, especially when things aren't going as planned. But remember, our vision is limited.
God sees the entire picture. Trusting Him means believing He knows what’s best for us and that His plans are always for our good.
Finally, it requires us to let go. Letting go of our need to control every aspect of our lives and surrendering to God’s will can be liberating. It is in this surrender that we find true strength. We realize we are not alone in our struggles; we have a constant companion and helper in God.
Renewing our strength is not just a one-time event; it's a daily process. Each day, as we wait upon the Lord, trust in His timing, and surrender our will to His, we find that our strength is renewed. We can soar like eagles, run without getting weary, and walk without fainting.
So, let us take a moment today to pause, to wait upon the Lord, and to allow Him to renew our strength. Let’s embrace this journey of discovering our inner strength through the source of renewal in Him.
