Don’t Turn the Love Button Off..

Don’t turn the love button off.

It was unconditional love that kept Jesus till He got to the cross. The God-kind of love. The love that is transparent. The love that doesn’t come with conditions or expectations. It’s the kind of love that sees through the body, the wrong actions of people, the annoying attitude and traits of people, yet still loves.
‘This person hurt you?’ Oh great! Love the person still. It’s the kind of love that God has, the kind of love which has been poured into us through the Spirit, the kind of love God wants us to live in.
And we’ve got the same kind of love, freely poured into us by God.

When you have the kind of love Jesus has for us, then you’ve really started living.
In loving people we have a model : Christ.
In loving, Christ is our model. We love the way God loves because we’re part of him now and he has poured his love into us. Christ presented the best kind of love to us. One without expectations.

We know we are His children because we have his love and love the way he loves. The love we have now comes from God and everyone who loves that way has been born of God.

1John.4.12 – No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us.

1John.4.7 – Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Some of us tend to just act a different way around people when they don’t seem to love us the way we love them, and trust me, it kills. There’s no rest or peace in expecting, it only comes with disappointments and regrets. But think about loving the way God loves, about secretly laughing at how people literally plot to hurt you and kill you, but loving them still. It comes with a lasting peace, it cuts off expectations and benefits. That way, whatever happens, whatever you do, I love you still. I don’t have a choice in this thing called love, it has been poured into my system and it leaves me with no choice.
Sometimes it’s hard, trying to love when you’re obviously not being even looked at, but things could get easier when you do it without expectations in sight, without conditions, without benefits, but just loving. That way, no matter how hard world or church people try, no single thing surprises you anymore.

This came as a revelation to me, at a time when I deeply needed it, and it feels ‘uncagey’ so I’m sharing to everyone caged by this. Caged by wanting to love, but scared of being loved back. Remember how the Bible asks, what differentiates us from the publicans and sinners if we love only the ones who loves us back.
Luke.6.32 – “Do you think you deserve credit merely for loving those who love you? Even the sinners do that!
Matt.5.46 – If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much.

C’mon, let’s move higher in this thing called love.
Jesus loves you deeply without conditions, don’t love him back based on conditions (because there’s food, shelter and a family who loves you so much.)
This is freedom. Yes, remember how Jesus came to set us free from the yoke of bondage? Loving with conditions is hurting, it’s disappointing, step out of that expectation and love differently. Love the best way you can and don’t turn off your love button when something doesn’t feel right about the person you’re loving.

Ever since God talked about loving us in the Bible, He never stopped even when we messed up and did things our way, He was waiting in love. We’ve all experienced how he hugged us in welcome when we found our way back. That’s the way we should love, love not just the body, but the soul and Spirit, that way even when you grow old with white hair, you still find something interesting, something beautiful about this person you’re in love with. And you realize that you still love easily, without finding reasons to. God’s kind of love is freedom. It breaks expectations.
I really pray we all learn to love that way, amen.
