Ending the Scofield 'Rothschild' Myth: Proving Ian Carroll and Hodgetwins Wrong
Did the Rothschild family commission the Scofield Reference Bible? No.
Dispensationalism, the Scofield Bible and by proxy, the King James Bible is
getting attacked for being a "rothschild" conspiracy.
This video is made to remove a stumblingblock from the feet of souls wanting the
truth, and souls who will reject salvation due to this lie.
I am not Jewish, nor is my mother. Nor was any Jew involved in the making of
this video (although I would have appreciated the help).
I have never been to the land of Israel.
I am a Dispensationalist and I believe in Scofield's views on Israel and the
Jews. If that is a bias to you, look at the sources and check if I have misused
them.
Hodgetwin: Why do you think, I don't know which way you lean politically, but
Republicans for whatever reason, it's probably cause of propaganda and the push
of that ideology, but Republicans really stand behind Israel.
Ian Carroll: Well, I think there's a lot of pieces to it, and I'm not going to—I
mean, I don't even understand all of them by any means. But part of it is
Christianity. And is the—do you guys know about the Scofield Bible?
Hodgetwin: Mm-mm.
Ian Carroll: Oh, boy. Here's a rabbit hole for ya. Here's a rabbit hole for all
of us that I have not gone all the way down yet, I've only started.
Hodgetwin: Okay.
Ian Carroll: But, um, in the early 1900s, 1913-ish...

“At the 1887 Niagara conference, Rev. Scofield arranged the right divisions of
the Bible into an outline form and published the outline as a small tract
entitled Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth the following year in 1888.”
"Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth contained the earliest widely printed
exhortation to study the Bible from the divided time format and was surely the
seed for the reference Bible project."
This excerpt takes place in July 23-29, 1901.
Page 93 of the thesis.
“As Gaebelein recounted the story, one evening after a series of meetings, he
and Scofield took a stroll that lasted well into the night."
"During this evening stroll, Scofield told Gaebelein that he was thinking about
putting together a study Bible with footnotes on the pages explaining the
Biblical text."
"Scofield told Gaebelein he had been thinking about the idea since from early in
his Dallas ministry [1882] but that the project failed to materialize for lack
of financial support.”
This excerpt takes place in summer 1902.
Page 94 of the thesis.
“Perhaps, Gaebelein laid the groundwork for Scofield’s project, which prompted
Ball to approach Scofield for future work but both Scofield and Gaebelein
recounted that a definite plan emerged for Rev. Scofield to prepare a study
Bible beginning in summer 1902.”
Page 110 of the thesis.
“On September 13, 1905, the church granted its beloved pastor an extended leave
of absence with an annual salary of $1000 so that he could work on the study
Bible. The reduction in pastoral duties enabled him to devote his full attention
to the Bible project, which required a great deal of travel.”
This is from The Life Story of C. I. Scofield, published in 1920, page 85.
“Using the results of his work as he did for his constant teaching and
preaching, he was keeping them also carefully written out in full notes,
reserving them systematically. These studies were later, and little by little,
embodied in what finally became the Scofield Bible Correspondence Course. This
Course had begun by the issuing of pamphlets, covering portions of the Word,
until the time came when it was possible to bring such pamphlets together in the
three Bible Correspondence Course volumes which have been used by such great
numbers, and which are to-day a permanent and rich contribution to the Bible
study of the English-speaking Christian world, as ministered by the Moody Bible
Institute.” - The Life Story of C. I. Scofield, page 85.
"After serving seven years as pastor of the church in East Northfield at Mr.
Moody’s call, Dr. Scofield, as will be remembered, had returned to his old
charge in Dallas, Texas, in 1902. The people of the Dallas church now assured
him that they would be content to have him give his time freely to work on the
proposed Reference Bible if he would continue to serve them as their pastor.
This was the joint work that he undertook to do; but after a year of it,
in 1903, he found that he would either have to give his entire time to work on
the Reference Bible or give it up and he dared not do that. So the church, in
unselfish devotion to the largest service of their Lord and Master, set him free
to give uninterrupted attention to the Bible work, though his name was continued
as their pastor until 1907, when he became pastor emeritus. And now seven years
(from 1902 until the work was published in 1909) were given to a complete
re-study of the Bible, a task that would have been impossible within that time
had not the ground been so thoroughly covered in preparing the Correspondence
Course." - The Life Story of C. I. Scofield, page 99-100
“It was on this second and last trip to Montreux, lasting eight or nine months,
that the work on the Bible was actually finished. This was in the year 1907." -
The Life Story of C. I. Scofield, page 135.
“But why would he need to travel? To see the Rothschilds.” - probable response
No.
(Still 110.)
“In the Life Story, Dr. Scofield said after the Dallas church released him from
full time duties he planned a trip to London, England where he would sightsee
and work on the reference Bible.”
“After his resignation in September 1905, Rev. Scofield applied for a passport
to travel abroad for two years. During that time, Dr. Scofield visited Oxford,
England and Montreux, Switzerland where he worked with resident theologians on
the study Bible project.”
“In October 1907, Dr. Scofield returned to Dallas, Texas for a homecoming sermon
before going to Crestwood in New Hampshire to finish work on the reference
Bible.”
“On January 15, 1909, Oxford University Press published the first edition of The
Scofield Reference Bible, edited by Rev. C.I. Scofield, D. D.”

The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British Government
in 1917 during the First World War announcing its support for the establishment
of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine, then an Ottoman region
with a small minority Jewish population. The declaration was contained in a
letter dated 2 November 1917 from Arthur Balfour, the British foreign secretary,
to Lord Rothschild, a leader of the British Jewish community, for transmission
to the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland. The text of the
declaration was published in the press on 9 November 1917.

In fact, these people also paid him.
“Though the study Bible was apparently C.I. Scofield’s concept, Arno C.
Gaebelein made important financial connections for Scofield." Page 92.
"The other members of the group were Francis Fitch, owner of a printing
business, and two other wealthy men, John T. Pirie and Alwyn Ball, Jr." -
Page 92.
"Scofield told Gaebelein he had been thinking about the idea since from early in
his Dallas ministry but that the project failed to materialize for lack of
financial support." - Page 93
“Gaebelein recalled that Scofield expressed concern about his dependence on the
Northfield ministry for income. Scofield let it be known that he would need
enough financial support to travel and teach while editing the study Bible.
Gaebelein said he offered to make inquiries for financial backing on behalf of
Scofield to get the project underway." - Page 93-94.
"In the Life Story, Dr. Scofield failed to mention the 1901 conversation with
Gaebelein but recalled that Alwyn Ball inquired of Scofield in 1902 about what
kind of work he was planning other than the conference ministry. Scofield said
he told Ball about his idea for a reference Bible to which Ball offered
financial support. Scofield said soon after Ball agreed to support the project,
John T. Pirie entered into “a hearty fellowship” with him to get the reference
Bible underway." - Page 94.
"From that time on he never doubted God’s call to the vast undertaking. Soon
afterward the late John C. Pirie, of Chicago and New York, entered heartily into
fellowship with Dr. Scofield in the very considerable expense involved in the
work." - The Life Story of C. I. Scofield, page 98.
Ian Carroll: ...to like it's a very complicated story, but the end result was he
made a new version of the Bible called the Scofield Bible...
As you see. The Scofield Bible was a King James Bible with commentary. He didn't
change the text, the meaning, the spelling.
What he did was take a King James Bible and add cross references and commentary.
Ian is so ignorant of what he is talking about that he has either never picked
up a Scofield Reference Bible, or he simply doesn't know any better.
Or he is blatantly distorting the truth to make himself appear as a beholder of
esoteric secret knowledge who has seen beyond the veil.
The Rothschild were not involved in the writing of the Scofield Reference Bible.
Ian Carroll: ...where this this—he's not Jewish. He's like a—he's an American
Christian, but they kind of like sort of leveraged his—it's complicated. He
wrote this new Bible that has all these new interpretations of the text. So they
didn't change...
Hodgetwin: With Jewish influence?
Ian Carroll: Yes.
“There were probably few if any men of the last fifty years in North America who
did as much to influence and guide the Bible study and Christian life of the
sound Christian leaders of our generation as James H. Brookes.
He was peculiarly blessed of God in making plain dispensational truth and the
great fundamentals of the prophetic study of God’s Word. To-day, more than forty
years after Dr. Scofield first came under that remarkable man’s influence, he
says of him: “James H. Brookes was the greatest Bible student I have ever known.
His great strength lay in the fact that he held truth in balance—he always
balanced whatever truth he was giving by some other truth; that is, whether he
mentioned the other truth or not, he held it at least in his mind over against
the truth that he was giving, and thus was kept from unbalanced or false
emphasis.”” - The Life Story of C. I. Scofield, page 47-48.
Early life and education [edit]
Brookes was born in Pulaski, Tennessee, February 27, 1830, into a family
descending on both sides from clergymen. When he was very young, his father,
also a Presbyterian minister, died. Brookes made his way to Miami University in
Oxford, Ohio, where he graduated in 1853.[1] He had brief studies at the
Princeton Theological Seminary where he refused financial assistance. When he
"was compelled to stop his theological studies on account of lack of means," he
returned to Ohio.[2] After becoming established in Saint Louis, he received the
honorary Doctor of Divinity in 1864 from both the University of Missouri[3] and
Westminster College.[2]
"Scofield credited Brookes with guiding him into Biblical truth and preparing
him for Christian ministry. Scofield described his Bible study with Brookes as
“intensive preparation” which included the study of “three standard treatises on
systematic theology” and other works on “church history, pastoral theology, and
homiletics.”" - Page 52.
“In the Life Story, Dr. Scofield acknowledged Dr. Brookes for his influential
role in shaping his method of interpreting the Bible. Though the two studied
together for about eighteen months between 1879 and 1882, Scofield came under
Brookes’s teaching ministry again in prophecy conferences between 1887 and 1897.
Through the teaching at the Niagara Bible Conference, Dr. Brookes significantly
influenced the development of Scofield’s view of the Bible and prophecy.
Reflecting on the role of Dr. Brookes in Rev. Scofield’s theological
development, Arno C. Gaebelein described Brookes’s mentorship of Scofield as the
“most important” event after Scofield’s conversion.” - Page 78.
It was at Niagara that Rev. Scofield “learned [from Brookes] what he could not
have learned in any of the theological seminaries of that time.”
“Thus, it is difficult to appreciate Scofield’s development as a Bible teacher
without comparing Brookes’s and Scofield’s views and methods together."
- Both page 79.
Ian Carroll: Literally, literally. And that's where like the—that's where the
God's chosen people and the greatest—well, not exactly, but that's where a lot
of this sort of like Israel...
Let’s first look at his commentary on Romans 11 to see what he wrote.
Ian Carroll's conspiracy is predicated on the idea that Scofield's view of
Israel was a "new interpretation" never found before in Christendom.
This is John Wesley's Explanatory Notes on the New Testament. Published in 1755.
Verse 12: Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the
diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
The first part of this verse is treated of, Romans 11:13, etc.; the latter, How
much more their fulness, (that is, their full conversion,) Romans 11:25, etc. So
many prophecies refer to this grand event, that it is surprising any Christian
can doubt of it. And these are greatly confirmed by the wonderful preservation
of the Jews as a distinct people to this day. When it is accomplished, it will
be so strong a demonstration, both of the Old and New Testament revelation, as
will doubtless convince many thousand Deists, in countries nominally Christian;
of whom those will, of course, be increasing multitudes among merely nominal
Christians. And this will be a means of swiftly propagating the gospel among
Mahometans and Pagans; who would probably have received it long ago, had they
conversed only with real Christians.
The founder of the Rothschild family, Mayer Amschel Rothschild, was 11-12 years
old in 1755.
Verse 25: For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery,
lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened
to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
St. Paul calls any truth known but to a few, a mystery. Such had been the
calling of the gentiles: such was now the conversion of the Jews.
Lest ye should be wise in your own conceits - Puffed up with your present
advantages; dreaming that ye are the only church; or that the church of Rome
cannot fail.
Hardness in part is happened to Israel, till - Israel therefore is neither
totally nor finally rejected.
The fulness of the gentiles be come in - Till there be a vast harvest amongst
the heathens.
Verse 26: And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come
out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
And so all Israel shall be saved - Being convinced by the coming of the
gentiles. But there will be a still larger harvest among the gentiles, when all
Israel is come in.
The deliverer shall come - Yea, the deliverer is come; but not the full fruit of
his coming. Isaiah 59:20
Verse 28: As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as
touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
They are now enemies - To the gospel, to God, and to themselves, which God
permits.
For your sake; but as for the election - That part of them who believe, they are
beloved.
Verse 29: For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
For the gifts and the calling of God are without repentance - Does God not
repent of his gifts to the Jews, or his calling of the gentiles.

be simply a lie to say that the English people, in the nineteen-forties, have
ever acted up to our professions; still, the idea is there, and it is a thing to
admire. There is no doubt a feeling today, in all English-speaking culture, if
it does not perish, a society of free and equal human beings will ultimately
result. But it is especially the idea of human equality—the 'Jewish' or
'Judeo-Christian' idea of equality—that Hitler came into the world to destroy.
He has, heaven knows, said so often enough. The thought of a world in which
black men would be as good as white men and Jews treated as human beings brings

Revelation and the Rothschild connection

That the Rothschilds were genetically unrelated to the biblical Jews was
inconsequential to them since they intended to redefine Bible prophecy to better
serve their long-term economic goals.
According to Connelly (Truth Connected.com) and others, Scofield's career was
heavily financed by the Rothschild family. The Oxford Press connection became
feasible, as 19th degree Freemason George Armstrong (head of the Oxford
University Press, owner of the 'Oxford Bible') married Scofield's friend who
helped get the Bible published, and Samuel Untermyer was connected with the
secret Lotus Club where Scofield was given a room, and C.I. Scofield was
provided with large cash payments by the Rothschild connected Samuel
Untermyer...

The Rothschild family never owned Oxford University Press. OUP is a department

VIII: DRUDGERY AND GENIUS
REALIZING that he could never give himself as he should to the making of the new
Reference Bible except by cutting loose from every other form of service, Dr.
and Mrs. Scofield went abroad in 1904 to take up this work. Both were very
weary, and Mrs. Scofield had never seen London, so they went there first, with
no special purpose in mind except a bit of sight-seeing. At this time Dr.
Scofield had no plans as to a publisher for the Reference Bible. He had not even
thought of that important detail in the work, not appreciating then, as he has
since, how vitally important it was that the right publisher should be found.
In New York he had become well acquainted with the older Mr. Scott of the
well-known firm of religious publishers in London, Morgan & Scott. He welcomed
the Scofields to London, and took them out to dinner at his charming country
place at Dorking. There Dr. Scofield told Mr. Scott quite fully about the work
he had undertaken in planning a new Reference Bible.
“Who is going to publish it?” at once asked Mr. Scott.
“I do not know,” was the reply. “I have not taken that up. The first thing I
must do is to get the material ready; then it will be time enough to think of a
publisher.”
“But the question of the publisher is of the utmost importance,” replied Mr.
Scott. “And there is only one concern that ought to publish that Bible. My own
house would be glad to publish it, of course; but we could not give it the
universal introduction which it must have. The publishers of this Bible must be
the Oxford University Press.”
“I do not know any one connected with the Oxford Press,” said Dr. Scofield.
“I can easily arrange that,” answered Mr. Scott. “I will give you a letter of
introduction and you can go and see Mr. Henry Frowde, then the head of the
Oxford University Press in Great Britain and the English-speaking world.”
Mr. Frowde was interested. He told Dr. Scofield that he would consult Mr.
Armstrong, then head of the American branch of the Oxford University Press. Mr.
Armstrong was immediately enthusiastic at the thought of a Scofield Reference
Bible, for he was already familiar with Dr. Scofield’s reputation as a Bible
teacher. A preliminary understanding was quickly reached, and before Dr. and
Mrs. Scofield left London it was definitely decided to place the Bible with
them, upon terms most gratifying and satisfactory for the publication, in the
interests of each party. With that great and vital matter thus settled, God
having fulfilled his word that “before they call, I will answer” (Isaiah 65:24).
The following is from Rushing, page 112.
The release C. I. Scofield’s four-year study Bible project introduced both a
revolutionary concept and novel content in Bible publishing in North America.
The reference Bible included Dr. Scofield’s explanatory notes as he envisioned,
“attached to the Word.” At the time Dr. Scofield conceived the idea for his
study Bible, there was no similar product available. By using simple annotations
printed underneath the Biblical text and marginal cross-referencing, Dr.
Scofield expected that a novice Bible reader could understand and interpret
scripture without the aid of outside commentaries. Scofield anticipated the
reader of his reference Bible would have a complete Bible study method contained
within his in-text study notes. Scofield’s system proved so successful that many
adherents failed to distinguish between text and notes.
Dr. Scofield’s reference Bible was most innovative for the content of its notes.
Scofield...
The following is from The Life Story of C.I. Scofield.
The Reference Bible Begun 85
The spiritual value of the Scofield Reference Bible began to be seen at once; as
Dr. James M. Gray, of the Moody Bible Institute, in a signed editorial in the
Christian Workers’ Magazine, after Dr. Scofield’s death in 1921, wrote among
other gifts: “Dr. Gray has said:
‘The Scofield Reference Bible requires no more advertising than the juicy grass
requires a sign for the sheep to come and graze...’
‘When one attempts to describe Dr. Scofield in the pulpit or the teacher’s desk,
that open-air meeting in Jerusalem comes into mind where ‘they read in the book
of the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand
the reading’ (Nehemiah 8:8).
‘This is Dr. Scofield’s richest gift. He knows how to read the Word of God, and
give the sense, and cause the people to understand the reading. He never writes
or speaks in a cloud, but always with sunlit clarity and determinateness can be
found in any of his discussions of any subject.’ His insight pierces the
intricacies...
A Christian worker, himself thoroughly instructed in the scriptures, who was
examining the Scofield Reference Bible, was pleased to see his young daughter
reading the Bible with enthusiasm, and when he questioned her about her
interest, they said, ‘it was so easy to find out things.’”
Ian Carroll: ...at the turn of the century, 1913-ish...
I already showed it wasn't 1913ish.
Ian Carroll: ...was when Christianity got kind of Jewified. Um...
Hodgetwin: Wow, so they messing with our religion.
Ian Carroll: For real, for real, yeah.
Hodgetwin 1: You can't do that to Islam.
Hodgetwin 2: (Laughter) They'll gain the crown.
Ian Carroll: Oh, for—for sure, for sure.
Ian Carroll: And it's not just that, so that's the Christian side of—of the
conservative movement being very pro-Israel...
“But it was revised in 1917. That’s when the Balfour Declaration came out.”
“But Candace Owens claimed the Lotos Club and [INSERT].”
1909 Versus 1917 and Candace Owens are coming soon. :)
