When we're so sad that we can't find the words to describe it, these passages help us find our way through the darkness.

Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." These words remind us that God is not far away, even in our most profound sorrow. He draws near to us, tenderly holding us in His loving embrace. He sees our pain and offers His saving grace to heal our broken spirits.

Isaiah 41:10 assures us, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." When grief overwhelms us with fear and despair, God promises to be our strength and support. He pledges to walk beside us, carrying us through the darkness and providing the comfort and strength we need to face each day.

In Matthew 5:4, Jesus says, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." These words from the Sermon on the Mount remind us that our mourning is not in vain. God sees our tears, and He promises to bring us comfort. He is the source of solace that can mend our broken hearts and restore our hope amid grief.

The Book of Revelation offers a glimpse of the future where pain and sorrow will be no more. Revelation 21:4 paints a beautiful picture of God's ultimate plan for His children: "‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." This verse speaks to our eternal hope in Christ, assuring us that all our sorrow will be transformed into everlasting joy one day.
