Every Normal Christian is “a Little New Jerusalem”

New Jerusalem’s center is “the throne of God and of the Lamb.” And this should also be our center.

What is recorded in Revelation 21 and 22 should be experienced by us today in a very personal way. Experientially speaking, every proper and normal Christian is “a little New Jerusalem.” Whatever is ascribed to the New Jerusalem corporately should be experienced by us individually and personally….In each one of us there must be the throne of God and of the Lamb. We must enthrone Him in our heart and in our spirit. In other words, in the very center of our being there should be the throne of God and of the Lamb.*

New JerusalemOur need is to experience this throne. This requires our cooperation. Hebrews 4:14-15 is about our great High Priest, Jesus Christ. Based on this, verse 16 says “Let us therefore come forward with boldness to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace for timely help.”

In this age we still have our poor, fallen, old man. For this we always need mercy and whenever we come forward we “receive mercy.” By staying at the throne we also “find grace.” This grace supplies us just like the rive from the throne of New Jerusalem.
