Godly Independence in this life is an eternal effect - Raising GENERATION Zion

How much do you value your independence? Are you free to live as you choose?

Countries across the world celebrate their freedom from captivity. Getting rid of harsh rulers or dictators is a positive step for all to flourish in the world, physically, materially and financially.

The older you are, the more independent you get as you understand the world around you. Almost every country in the world is somewhat free from oppression. Yet, people find themselves bound by another kind of captivity, the enslavement of the mind and heart that leave a terrible void inside.

Old Testament Israel got rescued from the bondage of Pharoah but failed to be free from the fleshly desires that killed almost all of them in the wilderness journey.

Your independence is most expensive and eternal.

Do you know our independence as believers is the costliest? The precious blood of Jesus shed on the cross of Calvary freed our souls.

The question we need to ask ourselves every day is, how to live out my freedom for the glory of God today? When we get serious about this question, our lives will change forever.

We see a lot of independent spirits at work inside pentecostal or other born-again churches today. Listing five we see that are most common.

  1. Ministry without subjection or out of their own will.
  2. Worship leaders sing too many songs during worship, disrupting the flow of the Spirit.
  3. Pray in tongues but going out of control.
  4. Prophesy out of fleshly provocations rather than Spirit-led.
  5. Testimony that glorifies self and not God.

King Saul went ahead and independently carried out a sacrifice that displeased God. Mighty Samson pursued his lust for women, living an independent lifestyle. Dinah ignored protocol and walked into a strange land to check out the latest fashions.

We are better together and best when the Holy Spirit directs us. The Bride of Christ is an exclusive group. Let’s stick to the boundaries of God’s love to finish this race and meet our loving Saviour. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.

Sehnsucht in the Blue Ridge Mountains — Nicole O'Meara

Sehnsucht is hard to put into words, as can be seen in my painfully limited ability to describe what I felt at a vista in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some call it joy. Some called it wistful longing for something you can’t explain. It has been called melancholy and nostalgia. It is all of that, and mo
