God's Answer to Sin Isn't Distance, It's Pursuit - A Nighttime Prayer

So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. – Luke 15:20 (NLT)

Please Pray:

Dear Triune God, as I lay my head down, I carry with me the weight of sin—sin I’ve done, sin done to me, and sin done around me. Tonight it feels too heavy, too embedded in my life, too much. So I pause to focus on your face and remember that you see me still. You don’t turn away from this sinful mess. You run toward me with love and compassion. As I sleep, remind my heart that grace is greater than sin. Convict my heart when I choose sin. Root out the shame and lies that keep me distant. Heal me where I am broken. Tonight, I rest not in my own striving, but in remembering your never-ending pursuit of me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
