Why do you hate God’s Word? What are you filled with when you hear the Word of God being preached to you?
I believe you want to know the reasons why you will go to any length to hate or even persecute those who share God’s Word with you even as a Christian. This post will show you why.

God’s Word fills you with power
God’s Word will fill you with power but this may not be so! This is not because it does not have the capacity to do so but you have allowed a heart that is not ready to receive power after hearing God’s Word.
One would expect people who hear and listen to the Word of God from a sermon or from the pulpit to be filled with the power of God, revelations or the wisdom of God.
But the case with the people in this passage was different:
Luke 4:28
[28]So all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath.
Can you believe that? They heard the Word from the anointed Master and they were filled with wrath! What happened?

Why God’s Word filled them with wrath
Jesus opened the scripture and taught them Inside the synagogue. But instead of being filled with godly wisdom, peace of God and revelations, they were filled with wrath!
And this happened to people who came to hear the Word in the synagogue!
Have you not observed how people you tell the truth from God’s Word turn around to hate you?
The problem is that they had a defective heart. They had a heart that does not have any regard and respect for the Word of God before they heard the sermon. They only came to the synagogue or church to fulfill all righteousness.
What you need to do
Check the state of your heart. Ask the Spirit of God to reveal this to you. If you notice you always get angry or irritated or hate people who share the Word of God with you in truth, then it’s time to check your life and heart.
Get down on your knees to pray. You should sincerely ask God to help you to love His Word. You can’t truly live a fulfilled life as a Christian, if you don’t love God’s Word.
