Hope is Not a Wish - A Nighttime Prayer

1x
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” – Psalm 42:5, 11, 43:5 (NLT)

Please Pray:

Dear Triune God, My hope is smashed. How life has disappointed me today has only added to my list of disappointments. I have trust issues with you yet I know that I am supposed to hope. I’ve read three times in Psalms, “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” (Psalm 42:5, 11, 43:5 NLT)

How do I do that? This is my prayer which is also my statement:  I am choosing hope. I am choosing to feel my emotions. I am choosing a Plan B which is different from my “supposed to” because I believe I am worthy to have something good happen to me. I am choosing courage. Be near to me, as I know you always are, in this vulnerable time. I will yet praise you. You are a good God. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
