How To Stand Against A Hypocrite? - Raising Zion
The Pharisee nature is that of a hypocrite. He is not what he portrays himself to be. A Pharisee is always pretending, or putting on a show to showcase himself. He is proud and blinded by his own conceit.
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
A hypocritical Pharisee cannot understand the way of Jesus. He is carnal and full of religious ways that only revere traditions rather than walk in love.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Matthew 23:27,28
When the Pharisee saw Jesus with the disciples and common folk, they accused him of being a sinner. The Pharisee will falsely accuse you. He will make every effort he can to tarnish your reputation.
The truth of God’s Word will help you stand against a hypocrite
Jesus did not allow their offensive ways to affect Him. He knew what was there in their heart. Jesus stayed focused on doing God’s will – to heal the sinner not the self righteous.
A hypocrite doesn’t practice what he preaches. Jesus practiced what He preached so we can follow His ways. Like Jesus had to endure wicked, religious people, we too will need to suffer in this journey.
Dear believer, set your belief on the rock who is Christ. The Words of Christ keep us clean and free from lies and hypocrisy. Then the words of wicked hypocritical men can never affect you. Keep your conscience pure before God and all will be well.
