Listen to God's Warning
“Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed, but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.” Proverbs 13:13
There were 6 men living by the beach on an island. One morning, there was a tsunami warning on the news! A tsunami was expected to come sometime during that day, so they were encouraging everyone to get out of town quickly and to take anything they really wanted to save.
The first guy didn't believe it, so he just went on with his day as normal.
The second guy got angry! Nobody was going to tell him what to do!
The third guy didn't really know much about it, as he hadn’t listened to the news himself; he had just heard the rumors going around town.
The fourth guy thought it was a great joke! He laughed and mocked the news guys. As if there would ever be a tsunami! There had never been one on their island before!
The fifth guy got really worried, so he packed up his stuff and went away, trying to persuade as many people as possible to come with him.
The sixth guy thought it was probably true, but he couldn't be bothered packing up and going away right then. So, he thought he might go sometime later on in the day, when he felt like it.
Well, that the tsunami did come, and only one of those 6 men survived. Because the first man didn't believe it, didn't stop it from coming. Getting angry also didn't stop it from coming. Neither did laughing and mocking stop it from coming. Finally, the guy who decided that later on he'd do something about it, didn't stop the tsunami either. The guy who believed and obeyed was the only one saved.
There is a verse in the Bible that says, “Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed.”
That means that the Bible (God’s Word) is like a warning!! It warns us of God’s judgment and what will happen if we don't turn from our sins and ask God to save and forgive us.
It warns us of lots of things, but a lot of people don't believe it. Some people get angry! Some don't really know much about it, because they won't read it or won't listen when people try and tell them. Some people laugh, mock and think it's a great joke.
Others think that it's probably true, and one day they'll listen and obey God, when they feel like it— when they're ready. But only those who actually believe and obey God will be saved. Don't put it off and say you'll do it one day, because you don't know when your time is up.

“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Isaiah 55:6,7
