Making heaven: How to go to heaven

Making heaven: How to go to heaven

It is war to get to Heaven. If you patronize your flesh regularly, you will terminate your heavenly race on earth

Memorise: “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier” (2 Tim 2:4)

Read: Jude 5-7

One person whose heavenly race was terminated as a result of worldly weights was Lot’s wife. She was one person who obtained mercy from God but still missed it. Lot’s uncle – Abraham interceded for them. God sent angels to the town they resided, and ensured that they passed by the front of Lot’s house.God arranged everything for Lot to see and recognize the divine visitors. In spite of these efforts, they were dragging their feet and so the angels grabbed them by the hand and forced them out. The angels thought at least they had saved four souls. But then Mrs. Lot remembered her gold, diamond and trinkets in Sodom which she could not take with her. Her attachment to them was so strong. Their control over her was so overbearing.making heaven

How could she ever part with such precious treasures? Heaven was pulling her on one hand but the pull of worldly things was stronger. The stronger pull must prevail. Eventually, worldly weights got a better part of her. She took one last look and was lost forever!

“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier” (2 Tim 2:4). It is war to get to Heaven. If you patronize your flesh regularly, you will terminate your heavenly race on earth. Lot’s wife looked back. That was not her first time.

She did it several times before and she got away with it. She thought doing it one more time was harmless. Little did she know there was a looking back that could totally damn the looker forever. Have you been compromising with sinful colleagues in the office or at school? Have you been lying and getting away with your lies? Have you been fornicating and have never been caught? Have you become so bold and comfortable stealing church money because you have never been caught?

Beware! Your last time is coming and you cannot escape it except you totally repent and turn a new leaf. Lot’s wife looked back and she lost both ways – she did not receive her treasures in Sodom and she did not escape God’s judgement. In the end, the compromisers become double losers. Are worldly pleasures pulling you so strongly to hell? Ask God for grace to break away.

While some faithfully serve God and become double winners, others play smart with God and lose on earth and in Heaven. Your actions today will determine your placement.
