Memorise: “But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer” (1 Pet 4:7)

Read: Joshua 10:12-14

One of the greatest blessings God has given to mankind is the gift of a woman. A woman is nothing but a receptacle. She receives whatever you give her, multiplies it and returns it to you. If you give her a seed, she receives it, multiplies it and gives you a baby. If you give her money for food, she receives it, performs some miracle and returns a delicious meal to you.

The Living... — Serving for God's Glory 1 Peter 4:7 (NKJV) - But...

If you give her love, she receives it, multiplies it and returns a load of goodies to you. If you give her a house, she multiplies it and gives you a home. If you do not like what you are getting from your wife, before you start complaining, check what you are giving to her. Inadequate inputs results in inadequate outputs. If your output is far below your expectation, change your inputs. However, some women are like the barren ground. It doesn’t matter what you sow on it, it will refuse to grow.

Prayer can change that. Do you have an impossible spouse in whom you have invested so much in time, money, love, care, yet you barely get anything out of the fellow? Take it to God in prayer and soon your accumulated harvest will break forth.

Prayer can change a hopeless situation into one filled with hope. In Exodus 14:15-18, Moses faced a hopeless situation when the Israelites were planning to kill him. But when he called out to God, his hope was restored and he lived. Is anyone threatening your life or that of members of your family? Pray.

No harm shall befall you or your family in Jesus’ Name. Another possibility of prayer is that it terminates something while commencing something else at the same time. In Joshua 10:12-14, while Joshua was fighting the Amorites, their victory was already giving way to defeat until he commanded the sun to stand still till their victory was total.

Are you gradually moving from victory to defeat in a particular area of life? Pray. I command your sun to stand still till your victory is complete in Jesus’ Name. Similarly after a period of dryness for over three years, Elijah prayed and the rain fell (1 Kings 18:42-45). Have you stopped experiencing the rain of God’s blessings?

Take it to God in prayer and your rain will start. With prayer, you can start those great plans you have. Never embark on any plan without adequate prayer foundation.

List 5 things you want to start with prayer and 5 things you want to stop with prayer. Go ahead and pray about them.
