Praying Scripture— Anger

Scripture

“When you are angry, don’t let it carry you into sin. Don’t let the sun set with anger in your heart or give the devil room to work.”

Ephesians 4:26-27— VOICE

And

“My dear brothers and sisters, pay attention to what I say. Everyone should be quick to listen. But they should be slow to speak. They should be slow to get angry.”

James 1:19— NI(R)V

And

“A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.”

Proverbs 15:18— NIV

Pray

Father God, Some days, I’m overwhelmed, tired, and grouchy. Help me to let go of my anger. I don’t want to become a foothold for Satan. Show me how to forgive and extend mercy when I’ve been wounded. Show me how to humble myself and ask for forgiveness when I’m at fault. I don’t want to let my circumstances determine my mood and attitude. Instead, help me to be quick to listen and slow to anger. Please let your love and joy be my strength today.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

But Jesus teaches us an upside-down way of living. He taught lessons like: "the first shall be last," "whoever wants to gain
