Silver Today, Pearl in New Jerusalem

God sent His Son to live among us and then to die on the cross to redeem us. Thank Him for this. Through the death of Christ we have forgiveness of sins. But this is not God’s goal; rather, forgiveness and cleansing are the basis for us to receive and grow in eternal life.

New JerusalemGalatians 3:13-14 declares, “Christ has redeemed us out of the curse of the law, having become a curse on our behalf;…that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” The goal of this redemption is receiving the Spirit who is the life for God’s purpose, all the way to New Jerusalem.

Likewise 4:4b-6 says, “God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under law, that He might redeem those under law that we might receive the sonship. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father!” Sonship and crying Father are of life. Today we must pay attention to both forgiveness and life.

In God’s work there is redemption, but in His eternal purpose there is no redemption….Today, however, we cannot disregard or lightly esteem the silver….In the New Jerusalem man will no longer need redemption, because they will sin no more….There is a life within us which has nothing to do with sin and which requires no redemption. That life in us is from Christ and it is Christ Himself. As Christ Himself needs no redemption, we who have a portion of His life will no longer need redemption. Thus, in eternity there is no need of silver.*

Praise the Lord that we have been redeemed, delivered fro the curse. And praise Him that we have received His sinless life which grows in us unto New Jerusalem.
