The Lord Jesus Christ Will Come in Glory

The Lord Jesus told His disciples, “the Son of Man is to come in the glory of His Father with His angels” (Matt. 16:27). After six days, three disciples had a foretaste of this (17:1-2). This is the glory given by the Father to the Son (John 17:24). It is the radiant expression of the Triune God.New Jerusalem

The foretaste was short but when the Lord returns visibly the glory will appear and never disappear. In Matthew 25:31 the Lord said, “when the Son of Man comes in His glory and all the angels with Him, at that time He will sit on the throne of His glory.”

Titus 2:12-13 says that “we should live soberly and righteously and godly in the present age, awaiting the blessed hope, even the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

His promise is the source of our hope!

Eternally this glory will fill New Jerusalem. Revelation 21:23, “the city has no need of the sun or of the moon that they should shine in it, for the glory of God illumined it.” Because of the Triune God’s shining in New Jerusalem, the city has “the glory of God” (Rev. 21:11).
