What are you sowing in this life to reap? - Raising Zion

senior man sowing rice in field

A candle lights up the entire room. No one keeps it under a vessel or bed but on a candlestick so the light may fill the place. (Matthew 5:15)

Jesus says you are the light of the world. (Matthew 5:14)

Our true identity will be revealed one day. In time, the truth of our lives will bear its fruit. How invested are you in Christ today? What are you doing with what God has given you?

  • Judas, called to be the light as a disciple of Jesus but loved money more than Jesus.
  • Demas, a fellow servant of God, left serving God to pursue the present evil world.

Over time, we reap what we sowed in ourselves.

What are you sowing in yourselves? Consider these two points.

God blessed us with spiritual blessings.

The man given one talent buried it instead of investing for it to reap its fruit in time (Matthew 25:14-30). What he received as a blessing was taken away. What are you doing with the spiritual blessings God has given you? Are your gifts and talents invested for the glory of God? Is your lifestyle that of an ambassador or a soldier of Christ? As born of God, is the seed of His word bearing fruit in season?

God forgave us.

The servant put his debtor into prison though forgiven of all his debts by his master (Matthew 18:21-35). When the master heard about his servant’s wicked act, the servant got punished. Do we forgive others like Christ forgives us even today? Is our life an example of the compassion and love that Christ exhibited while on earth? Is the fruit of the Spirit nurtured through prayer and bible meditation daily?

In Christ, every believer remains blessed.

What has God given you apart from the ones above?

Labour for eternal life. Christ is coming soon. Praise God, and Amen.

Sehnsucht in the Blue Ridge Mountains — Nicole O'Meara

Sehnsucht is hard to put into words, as can be seen in my painfully limited ability to describe what I felt at a vista in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some call it joy. Some called it wistful longing for something you can’t explain. It has been called melancholy and nostalgia. It is all of that, and mo
