When you’ve had enough.

Good day beautiful people

I hope that this post finds you well? I also pray that the peace of God which surpasses all human understanding fills your heart.

Today’s write up has been inspired by the passage 1 Kings 19:4. Sometimes certain seasons in our lives can leave us extremely frustrated. At times we may want the ground to swallow us up in order to escape from the pressures which come from this race called life. We want to get away so we can breathe. The truth is if you’ve experienced this YOU’RE NOT ALONE. Yes Christians do go through challenging periods in life, this is not uncommon.

Psalm 34:19 ~ “The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”

1 Kings 19:4 ~ “Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

So, in 1 Kings 19 one can note that Elijah had had enough! Sometimes we may get frustrated about a particular situation such as being single. The devil likes to make us feel like God has abandoned us, thoughts may creep into our minds such as ‘what’s the point of living righteously’. Satan likes to make us feel isolated and feeds us with the lie that nobody knows how we feel and that our situation is unique! But there’s nothing new under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 1:9 ~ “History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.”

“Yet I will preserve 7,000 others in Israel who have never bowed down to Baal or kissed him!”

^^^ (1 Kings 19:18) There were 7000 people who were committed to God and like Elijah had not bowed to Baal.

Whatever your frustration may be such as waiting for financial provision legally, just know that you’re not alone. Keep on living righteously and remember God will never abandon you. Even when things don’t turn out the way we want them too just know that we serve a sovereign God. Redirect your focus to things which are of eternal value, rather than being fixated on what the world has to offer as this world will pass away (perish).

Galatians 6:9 ~ “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

Joshua 1:9 ~ “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Stay encouraged.
