Scriptures to read during stressful times.

Good day beautiful people,

I hope that this message meets you well? In today’s post I’d like to point you towards a pathway called hope. And this hope comes from God’s word which is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Sometimes life can get really really tough and when storms arise we’re not to lose hope, instead we must turn to God Almighty the anchor of our souls. Another great thing to do when in distress would be to fellowship with other believers, but do not forget that there will be times when you will need immediate help during your times of trouble which only God can give. Also it’s always a good habit to mention all your problems to God first. Without further ado I shall now share some scriptures which have encouraged me during my times of distress, frustration and moments where I’ve felt extremely anxious.

Psalm 119:143 ~ “As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.”

Psalm 27:14 ~ “Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”

Proverbs 3:24-26 ~ “You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.”

Joshua 1:9 ~ “This is my command be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

1 John 1:9 ~ “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

Psalm 42:5-11 ~ “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again my Savior and “my God! Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan, from the land of Mount Mizar. I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me. But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life. “O God my rock,” I cry, “Why have you forgotten me? Why must I wander around in grief, oppressed by my enemies?” Their taunts break my bones. They scoff, “Where is this God of yours?” Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again my Savior and my God!”

Psalm 34:18 ~ “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

Psalm 73:13-28 ~ “Did I keep my heart pure for nothing? Did I keep myself innocent for no reason? I get nothing but trouble all day long; every morning brings me pain. If I had really spoken this way to others, I would have been a traitor to your people. So I tried to understand why the wicked prosper. But what a difficult task it is! Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked. Truly, you put them on a slippery path and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction. In an instant they are destroyed, completely swept away by terrors. When you arise, O Lord, you will laugh at their silly ideas as a person laughs at dreams in the morning. Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside. I was so foolish and ignorant I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you. Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. Those who desert him will perish, for you destroy those who abandon you. But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.”

Psalm 46:1 ~ “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.”

I pray that you all continue to draw strength from God’s word no matter how tough life gets. Don’t give up, stay hopeful for our God is faithful.
