A Harvest of Gratitude - A Nighttime Prayer

“Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls—yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” – Habakkuk 3:17-18 (NKJV)

Please Pray:

Holy Spirit, Living God, please breathe Your complete peace and joy into my heart. When I go through complicated and trying circumstances, especially over long stretches of time, please teach me to observe gratefulness for the trials You have allowed. When I find myself in despair, remind me of Your faithfulness in the past, and help me find strength in the memories of Your blessings. When I am tempted to complain, give me humility and reverence for Your generosity to me in so many ways. When I crave a different outcome to hardships, show me the pathway through the difficulties and give me confidence that You are always with me. Make me earnest and deliberate to practice an attitude of gratitude at all times. Help me identify all Your provisions. I thank You and praise You even now, as You shape my life and soul into the thankful child of Your love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
