A New Man Created by Christ, in Christ

New JerusalemThe center of the old creation is the old man. The center of the new creation is Christ, the all-and-in-all of the new man. As seen in the many conflicts in the world, the old man is very contentious and divided. This is a result of sin.

The divisions in the old man can never be removed by the United Nations nor by any other human action promoting peace. The answer is in Ephesians 2:14-15, “For He Himself is our peace, He who has made both one and has broken down the middle wall of partition, the enmity, abolishing in His flesh the law of the commandments in ordinances, that He might create the two in Himself into one new man, so making peace.”

Christ is the peace, He who died on the cross to terminate all the divisive elements in the old creation and to create a new man in the new creation. Now we need to receive Him and let Him apply His death with all its terminating power to our old being. By the Spirit who regenerated us and now indwells us, we apply the death of Christ to all the oldness in our being.

It is also by this Spirit that the resurrection of Christ is imparted into our being to bring in the reality of the living of the new man thereby taking us onward to New Jerusalem.

    The Mall or the Manger?

Much has changed since the God of the universe decorated the night sky with the star of Bethlehem and directed the choir of angels in a chorus announcing the birth of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. But the commercialism doesn’t have to rule in our hearts and homes. This year let’s focus on the Christ Child and remember the true meaning of the holiday season. As we turn our eyes to the Babe in the manger, we will not view Christmas as a dreaded obligation or a major retail event. It will be a time of joyous celebration, honoring the One Who came to give us eternal life and worshipping our Heavenly Father.
