Colossians 3:8 Says It All

This is an excerpt from my book

Colossians 3:8

But now you also, put them aside anger, wrath, malice, slander and abusive speech from your mouth.

Well, what can I say, this verse says it all. Here’s an interesting question. If we put aside all of these emotions from our speech what would the world talk about? Rarely do we concentrate on the good.

I guess we would be in for a world of silence. This is all right with me.

If we took out the all negative words from our mouths, there wouldn’t be any talk radio, TV news, newspapers, or late-night talk shows. Then again, would that be such a bad thing?

How much of your time is talking and thinking about the words of this verse?
How much of your time is thinking about people who use those words in their speech? Like the verse says put them aside.
