Eating Humble Pie - A Nighttime Prayer

1x
"Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." -- Proverbs 16:18

Please Pray:

Dear Lord,

When I struggle with pride, help me to remember one of the Jewish blessings, "Blessed are you, oh Lord our God, King of the Universe, owner of earth and sky." You own everything; we own nothing. Your vastness is incomprehensible, yet you left a magnificent heavenly throne and chose to come to earth and live as a humble human to share in our suffering, and take away our sins. Help me keep this in mind as I navigate my days. In Jesus' name, Amen.

She has a name. But in my house, she’s referred to as The-girl-who-doesn’t-like-me-and-I-don’t- know-why. Do you have anyone in your life like that? In social situations, she steers clear of you and refuses to make eye contact. When trying to reach out, you draw back an emotional nub of rejection.
